its a made up tradition and even ritual practice, it makes a mockery of 1st the ancient israelites who would repent in saccloth & ashes, 2nd it makes a mockery of cross!! no such thing is ever found in the mosaic or Christian teachings!! and why would u wanna glorfy ash on ur forehead, its a symbol of sorrow and repentance. And notice how the mark of the beast is also given on the forehead too, notice the correlation? just more doctrines of demons, I can't believe u guys can't see it. u really need discernment.

Since you cannot support your bizarre unBiblical fantasy with Scripture, the only appropriate discernment would be to ignore rant and move on to more discerning discussions.

Fasting, what is it? How does it help us?

Isaiah 58 answers these things for us....

This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed, breaking every yoke;

Sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own.

And the promise that accompanies these things:

Then the LORD will guide you always and give you plenty even on the parched land. He will renew your strength, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails.

I just finished a 4 week fast. I really experienced some tremendous breakthrough in areas of my life. This is my very 1st fast to successfully complete. Praise God!

its doesn't surprise me dat dis thread hasn't got many comments yet fasting is a very important part of being a Christian, just goes 2 show the minds of many so called Christians in here, many churches are not fasting in fact their doing the opposite, their filling their stomachs in churches. No wonder so many Christians are weak in the faith and struggling with there flesh!!

Stop judging what others are or are not in this forum. You have repeatedly spoken of others as if they are clueless to what is in His Word. I rebuke any words spoken against members here and command that no fruit is produced from them in Jesus Name. Amen.

The fast of lent is not about not eating.
It is about reminding us individually and as a community that we are to be living the proper fast (see post one) .
It is about seeking less for ourselves and more for those in need, those broken, those in prison, the blind and the lame.....
It is about, as one, humbling ourselves before the ONE who humbled HIMSELF,
That we might become, less of us, and more of HIM....
It is about putting away 'the old self' , not just as individuals, but as a community...

And the cross is our standard of victory over this world.
Any Christian who is ashamed of the cross of Christ, needs to reexamine their hearts imo...

Lent is about how Jesus, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, being led into the dessert by the Holy Spirit and after fasting for forty days came back out in the power of the Holy Spirit. How is that not about not eating?

If we are filled with the Spirit and led to fast then we will spiritually become more powerful.
