Tonight (Sept 12-13) at sundown begins the Feast of the trumpets called Rosh Hashanah. The moon is new and the thin waxing crescent is starting to show signifying a new month.I get especially excited about the Hebrew autumn feasts because as Paul stated, they are shadows of things to come and the autumn ones represent end times. The spring ones already occurred: Passover, Christ's Death (Nisan 14), Unleavened Bread (immediately interred at the start of that day Nisan 15), and arose 3 days later (by Nisan 18) to fulfill the feast of Firstfruits. 50 days later was the Harvest festival (Pentecost) so-called the birthday of the church but in fact was a Hebrew feast already established. Now, the feast of the Trumpets will signify His return to gather His people as the feast also was a gathering (e.g. Matthew 24:31) .Paul compared His coming to the trumpet call.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(I Corinthians 15:52)People often wonder what is meant by the last trumpet. In the feast ceremony, there are several shofar (ram's horn trumpet) calls. I used to have them on my computer and I have to dig them up again if anyone wants to hear the different calls, or again, one can probably do an Internet search. Anyways, the last trump was that last call of the ceremony and at that time Christ will come (or I should say, Paul compared it to that time). The Day of Atonement comes ten days from now, and again has reference to judgment and forgiveness and the Tabernacle Feast regarding the millennial reign of Christ. You often been told not to gamble, but that's one bet I have out that whatever year the end times occurs, I bet the feast of Trumpets (or there abouts) in the autumn will be when it starts.Even Revelation 12 is suggestive of an astronomical position. The woman clothed with the sun (sun in Virgo) with the moon under her feet (the thin waxing crescent of the new moon). This happens at the feast of Trumpets.
