When the sun sets, if it was just moving further and further away from us, it would appear to get smaller and smaller until it was too far away to be visible. But that is not what we see. At sunset, the sun gradually disappears below the horizon, so that halfway trough the sunset, we just see half of the sun.
Go to watch sunsets, buy a telescope, watch planets, how they move, watch satellites and the ISS, how they orbit our planet etc. Check the math for the orbits, for the comets, for the distances, for eclipses, replicate the observations Galileo did, learn (or invent your own) calculus like Leibniz/Newton did. Verify, if you do not trust.
Or, trust those who do that professionally. Your choice. But do not play some smarty on internet, if you cannot predict even the next eclipse or the next comet seeing with a flat earth model.

The general negative view of Christianity and education.
But the reason they are leaving is because Christians wants them to be believe things about cosmology that are not true.....Young people want a religion that is true, not fantasy. Who wants to hang with stupid people?
Why did the Jews and Christians believe that the world was flat and the sun and moon and stars moved around it? Why did they believe the world was on a fixed foundation? And why did sailors worry about sailing off the end of the world?
It wasn’t just the Jews and Christians; it was a common belief of the time period. And you will see a lot of references to “ the ends of the world and ends of the earth” The phrase mean something entirely different to us because we know the planet is round but, back then it was a fear…..of falling off the ends of the world…. particularly for sailors.
In a hundred we went from candles to nuclear power and weapons to landing on the moon And the moon is not flat either and from the moon you can easily see the earth is round.
The scriptures detail the earth stationary and flat and on a foundation. According to these scriptures the earth has a foundation….and it was set on pillars that could be shaken but the earth could not move and the sun and moon and stars moved around it….and if an object was tall enough it could be seen from the four corners of the earth because the earth was flat….and it had corners….and the sun and moon can stop traveling around the flat earth…. and heaven has windows. And stars could fall to earth....stars are suns and they are not going to fall to earth. They did not have an understanding of asteroids burning up in the atmosphere.

Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved….. (They believed that the Earth did not rotate or move….. everything… sun, moon, and stars, orbits the earth.)

It would be that the earth stopped rotating not the sun and moon stopping.
Over the years science has proven a lot of what in the Old Testament is true. But there is the human perspective of trying to explain and understand some events.

I trust the Lord, and His Holy Word.
And I don't draw my conclusions from YouTube conspiracy theorists. I actually read, and do research, I've been doing this since long before the internet, back when we had these things called underground bookstores.
God made me this way. I came out of the womb questioning everything, and it has cost me dearly. Its how I came to faith in Christ, I put Him and His word to the test.
You go ahead and trust your professionals. We will see how it all shakes out in the end.
In the meantime, try a little less contempt, maybe even a little kindness.
Neither one of us should presume to have all the answers. Or that we are above being deceived.

In the end of what? It works for centuries. Come on, we live in the age in which people can even fly to orbit privately and the ISS hosted astronauts from so many countries already, billions of people use GPS, Gallileo, satellite TV, internet... no, I will not be "more kind" to this nonsense.

Are you arguing that christian kids are leaving their faith because science teaches them that the supporting documents of their faith cannot be trusted? It seems that way, in which case, thank you for making my point for me.

There is the theology side to the scriptures which some is good and bad.....like executing women that are raped and the ancient perspective of cosmology which is very inaccurate. It is what it is. But if you tell people that you cannot accept the theology unless you accept the old beliefs.....people will say no thanks.
Please show me the scripture that says a rape victim should be put to death, I'll wait.

No one flies over Antartica = only a very limited area or your plane will be escorted away or shot down.
i personally knew of a man who worked for the Gov and was stationed down there.
The Internet has been scrubbed and the majority of info is completely controlled on issues/subject matter they DO NOT want you knowing about.
They also flood the Internet with man-centered science and mockers of truth.
I'm enjoying my time in this thread. But that's probably because I'm not here trying to prove anything. And if I'm wrong about the globe, and someone can prove to me that I'm truly flying through space on a spinning ball, while I may not be happy about it, I'll be glad that I am no longer living with an incorrect view of the cosmos. And in the end, not much will have changed, except that maybe I learned something.
The same cannot be said for yourself of course, and I don't mean that in an insulting way at all. This is clearly an existential issue for most globers, as even admitting the possibility that your worldview could be in error, would dismantle so many firmly held beliefs that your mind might just implode from the weight.. "the gravity" if you will, of such a profound revelation.
You're a Christian, that's why you're here, to hang out and talk with other believers, right? Me too.
So pray about it.
Ask God what He thinks.
He promises wisdom to all who seek it sincerely and in faith.
Unless of course, you've already got everything all figured out and there is no possibility you could be mistaken.

But we do KNOW the Earth has great Depth which mankind and all their technology CANNOT photgraph or be searched out = meaning they CANNOT travel there.= Jeremiah 31:35-37
Thus says the Lord:
“If heaven above can be measured,

I will also cast off all the seed of Israel
For all that they have done, says the Lord.
No one has ever been around the globe because it does NOT exist as such.

Those of us in the KNOW, know about "those things that fly" from Scripture.
We KNOW that the fallen angels are superior to man and have technology that they taught man with.
However, even with this corruption of mankind with added technology from the angels CANNOT withstand the LORD
