And, yet, science shows us that it does. The main issue is the continual failure by flat-earthers to distinguish between and so properly interpret different genres of scripture. That's why none of you can provide any explanation as to why you believe the earth is a flat disc rather than a polygon. I doubt that any of you can provide an explanation for a lunar eclipse or why the earth isn't always lit up everywhere (if, as was stated earlier, the sun is 3,000 miles above the earth, the majority of the surface of the earth would be lit up at all times).

The main problem is a lack of understanding of Scripture, which then leads to obviously false conspiracies about science, as that is the only way to explain away wrong theology on the matter.

That makes the shape of the earth UNKNOWN to man.

Never do the scriptures mention the earth being thrust or hurled in a circuit around the sun. And yet, the sun and moon have circuits and move ....and can be made to stand still in the sky. God would've said the earth stood still if that is what was needed to make the sun and moon to seem not to stand still.

Joshua said stop the sun and moon. God did it. But the mechanism isn't given — the text says what happened in the sky, not what moved to make it happen.

A flat earther will say the sun stopped moving. A globe believer will say the earth stopped spinning. Both produce the same thing in the sky, and the verse doesn't say which.

So this verse isn't evidence for either one.

What i know and place my trust in is our Heavenly FATHERS words = WATER and more

Peter, better then a tennis ball(and easier to construct) would be to:
a.) use a standard size globe earth that we have in class rooms throughout the world.
b.) It has all the land masses and oceans already on it
c.) just cut out where the oceans are and make it deep enough to hold water - with a bottom.
d.) fill with water and spin = one full east/west & upside/down rotation

How much force do you estimate would be required to simulate 'gravity' by which the water is kept in-place on the sphere???

Also, you know that we can fellowship TOGETHER in CHRIST 24/7 anytime and anywhere on earth(weather permitting & boat required or in a airplane).
Because we were not Saved by the shape of the earth but by the Precious BLOOD of CHRIST.
Neither are we Saved by superior knowledge = 1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Since GOD made a circle over the earth where we live on - and the outer circle it is made of a ICE WALL that contains the oceans.
Would there must need be snow at the equator?

Because you have to take all of scripture as a whole, brother. Scripture interprets scripture. When taken together with all the other scriptures about how God created the earth ....the sun and moon standing still, the earth having foundations, and a firmament above it like a tent to dwell in ...the lights that are set inside the firmament that have circuits ...and so many more ...it paints a whole picture. We all know that one word can have various meanings and applications. But when taken as a whole, one can see what is meant.
