For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

‘For I am convinced…’

Oh, the security of love the heart is in possession of, to be able to say; ‘I am convinced’…. For the heart needs not to understand all, but it has tasted the love of Christ enough to be convinced… This being convinced, is the heart recognizing and resting in the love there is in the calling it has received from its Creator…. For the making of one’s calling of love sure, is found in the experiencing of the love of Christ… Though knowledge has its place, it can never take the place of the experiencing of Jesus, the experiencing of Jesus being that which makes one sure of one’s calling of love… For with the words, ‘I am convinced’, the heart has left behind being tossed to and fro, and has grown into this conviction, this conviction, not being learned through books, but through the heart being a do’er of the word, where the Author of love said, ‘come unto me’…

For Christ Himself being the teacher of the heart, this coming unto Jesus being the way of the student… For as long as one has life in this world, the growing of the Christ in one, is to have the whole of one’s heart, for anything other than this, being something less than this…

For being convinced of God, that one is God’s, that one will never not be God’s, and can never not be God’s, is what the experiencing of the love of Christ brings to the heart… For God is good and He does love, being convinced of this love pointed towards one is that which brings the heart such joy, such peace, such security, such all good things….

For when one is convinced that God will never leave or forsake one, this one gains great strength of faith, this strength of faith produces joy in the heart and life that is something that is to be experienced, for this being convinced, is the strength of one’s faith, for one is being either convinced or not yet convinced…

For being convinced that one is dead in Christ, and that one’s life is hid with Christ in God, whereby Christ lives His life in and through one… Being so, that one might be a new creation, created in righteousness, by righteousness, for righteousness… For when the heart sees it has no hope, but in this faith, will it be convinced of this truth…
