I was raised in a church that didn’t recite the creeds. I didn’t know at the time that there was such as thing as creeds. I’d never even heard of them. If someone had mentioned early church fathers to me I probably would have thought they were speaking about men who had children and attended Adult Sunday School. I’ve come a very long way since those days.
So have I. From a baby Catholic to raised JW to--------- Christian. NIGHT and DAY.
All I had to do was read the scriptures in context and pray. Amazing that.
We do agree that the Son of God died. For me, death means the complete cessation and absence of life. Conception brings a person into existence; death takes a person out of existence.
I know a lot of people who think both ways about death.
It's just the in-between stage- It doesn't rip us apart. We
both await bodily resurrection. So we should build different buildings and not fellowship? This is what is wrong with what the RC calls all of us, "protestants" Too many protest each other over everything. You see it on these forums. Arguing over this is petty. Mature believers can agree to disagree. The divisive calls others pagans and go build their "perfect" church. It will never end. Cut me a break.
Some things we should divide over- a few examples-, affirming a sinful lifestyle, false prophets, cultic behaviors, If someone denies Jesus' resurrection-etc than that is a PROBLEM, MATT.
Do you deny that? Is that why you brought this up? Are you also of the Jesus is dead forever cult? I hope not.
I don’t believe that the one God was ever conceived / brought into existence; nor do I believe that the one God has ever died / ceased to exist, or that he ever will.
I know of no one who believes God was conceived.
God sent His Only Son. Jo 3:16 The Word
became flesh. The Word was God.
God was in Christ reconciling us. @ Cor 5:19
Jesus' body was the vessel and In Him was God in HIs fullness. Col 2:9
He HUMBLED himself and gave all glory to God His Father. Phil 2
Jesus was truly born of a woman and of God. Was He not?
He was not just like YOU- you have an earthly father and an earthy mother!! YOU & I ARE FROM BELOW.
Jesus was from above. Jo 8:23
His mother gave him his
human nature.
"Some" people call us antichrist to say Jesus had also
God's nature- as if that means he had no flesh. lol that is not what John spoke about! Gnostics did not believe he had flesh but was spirit. That's why John says 'we touched him" after he says the word became flesh. God was His actual father, not Joseph. Antichrists don't believe in the father and the son.
1 JOHN 2:22
Who is the liar except the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
I don’t worship the Father in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Son in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Holy Spirit.
IDK how you worship precisely and I don't know if I need to know. If by," not in the same way" you mean HOW- you may stand on your head- I really dont mind. lol
The Spirit is the Lord and the Lord is the the spirit. Christ's spirit in you? God's spirit in you?
It is all God.
When the Word was made flesh what happened?
-
The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the holy Child will be called the Son of God. --
Luke 1:35
Aside from the Q about
when He was first called, "son" . I told you that is a fairly common issue. It does not take away from the fact that Jesus on earth was both the son of a human
and the son of THE MOST HIGH. Therefore, he is not just a man like you.
BTW the pastor, John MacArthur, has an article on the sonship issue. He used to believe one way and changed his view after many years. I used to listen to him many years ago. Think about how popular he was while holding that view.H
I still have His Hebrews commentary from back then.
Is it true that John MacArthur has reversed his position on the eternal Sonship of Christ? Yes. Here's a statement from John about his views on that issue. Near the end of his life, A

P.S.
If the result is the same, then why did your spiritual ancestors persecute, anathematize, torture and execute my spiritual ancestors?
I have tried to extend a hand to you. Seems you want to be different on "it" particulars and strongly insist upon that. I've told you I considered the IT theory in my past, but
Jesus had memories of His heavenly time and glory with His father.
He also had
emotions of love shared in His memories,
He flat out stated that He came down from heaven.
That did it for me- the Word was an "it" just doesn't work.
I also don't think that the time I spent thinking an "it' was right that I was not a Christian. I also wasn't planning on screaming it from the roof tops to upset the faith of others.
Have it your way, Matt, but we both were we created by the same God, and are saved by the same God, and both hope to be with Him forever.
When I think of God I can't separate His salvation from Him. *
God is our salvation. His salvation is found only in His Son. So yes, when I worship, I worship the whole package of who my God is. I certainly don't picture 3 gods but only One.
You have an odd way of looking at things.
*Psalm 68:19, 79:9, 25:5, 27:9, 89:26, 62:6
If you have a problem with that then I am sorry to hear it.
As far as your comment about who my "spiritual ancestors" , you are way off dude. I give up. You have a need to be divisive and that's too bad. Your spiritual ancestors would be Jews?- the ones who killed Jesus? See anyone can attack. It doesn't make it right.
I am just a gentile Christian. Oh well. So are you. I prefer to think of the apostles as my spiritual ancestors. So do you.
I don’t know why she did. People like posts for various reasons.
yeah well that was rhetorical. I know her better than she does sometimes.
