I’m not interested in debating my belief but I’m open to discussing it.
There are few churches like mine anywhere in the world. Orthodoxy has crushed it for 1700 years.

My personal faith statement is that I believe in God and I also believe in Jesus of Nazareth. I take it from John 14:1.
I agree with you, Matt.
The God whom I believe in - the God of the Jews - didn’t die and cannot die.
I agree with you. The Father of our Lord did not die. --(I think that Oneness Pentecostal disagree.)
We agree that the Son of God died. (Mary's son & God's son)- Right?

I worship the God of the Jews and I also worship the Messiah. It is the Messiah, not the God of the Jews, who died for my sins as a substitute in my place.
I agree. I also worship God our Father and Christ.
I agree- the Lord gave His life for our sins in our place.

A brother which the creeds of your theology assert is a heretic who isn’t saved and cannot be saved.

I think we can agree on the Apostles Creed. I am not a big creed person. Many churches don't have creeds. Like I've said - it is the end result that matters. And you and I have that.
HOWEVER- I find it very interesting that @Aunty Jane clicked like on your post above. HUH?
JWs do not worship Christ, NOR do they believe that He died as a substitute for our sins. They pay for their sins by dying. That is why I have nothing in common with them. There's plenty more as well, but I don't want to divert your thread.
She likely will not reply to me since she has shunned me ( her words) on here. Why? I made a thread that exposed the JW teaching of dying to pay for your own sins- and she did not like that I revealed what they teach and exposed it. I was not baptized a Jw- was raised in it. My family shuns me because of TWO things we have in common.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. - John 12:32

I have a website approaching 4 million views (rockytopva). The video currently doing the best is the one promoting the name of Jesus...

I was raised in a church that didn’t recite the creeds. I didn’t know at the time that there was such as thing as creeds. I’d never even heard of them. If someone had mentioned early church fathers to me I probably would have thought they were speaking about men who had children and attended Adult Sunday School. I’ve come a very long way since those days.

We do agree that the Son of God died. For me, death means the complete cessation and absence of life. Conception brings a person into existence; death takes a person out of existence.

I don’t believe that the one God was ever conceived / brought into existence; nor do I believe that the one God has ever died / ceased to exist, or that he ever will.

I don’t worship the Father in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Son in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Holy Spirit.

P.S.

If the result is the same, then why did your spiritual ancestors persecute, anathematize, torture and execute my spiritual ancestors?

HOWEVER- I find it very interesting that @Aunty Jane clicked like on your post above. HUH?

I don’t know why she did. People like posts for various reasons.

So have I. From a baby Catholic to raised JW to--------- Christian. NIGHT and DAY.
All I had to do was read the scriptures in context and pray. Amazing that.

I know a lot of people who think both ways about death. It's just the in-between stage- It doesn't rip us apart. We both await bodily resurrection. So we should build different buildings and not fellowship? This is what is wrong with what the RC calls all of us, "protestants" Too many protest each other over everything. You see it on these forums. Arguing over this is petty. Mature believers can agree to disagree. The divisive calls others pagans and go build their "perfect" church. It will never end. Cut me a break.

Some things we should divide over- a few examples-, affirming a sinful lifestyle, false prophets, cultic behaviors, If someone denies Jesus' resurrection-etc than that is a PROBLEM, MATT.
Do you deny that? Is that why you brought this up? Are you also of the Jesus is dead forever cult? I hope not.
I don’t believe that the one God was ever conceived / brought into existence; nor do I believe that the one God has ever died / ceased to exist, or that he ever will.
I know of no one who believes God was conceived. God sent His Only Son. Jo 3:16 The Word became flesh. The Word was God. God was in Christ reconciling us. @ Cor 5:19
Jesus' body was the vessel and In Him was God in HIs fullness. Col 2:9
He HUMBLED himself and gave all glory to God His Father. Phil 2
Jesus was truly born of a woman and of God. Was He not?
He was not just like YOU- you have an earthly father and an earthy mother!! YOU & I ARE FROM BELOW. Jesus was from above. Jo 8:23
His mother gave him his human nature.
"Some" people call us antichrist to say Jesus had also God's nature- as if that means he had no flesh. lol that is not what John spoke about! Gnostics did not believe he had flesh but was spirit. That's why John says 'we touched him" after he says the word became flesh. God was His actual father, not Joseph. Antichrists don't believe in the father and the son.
1 JOHN 2:22
Who is the liar except the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

I don’t worship the Father in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Son in the same way that you do. I don’t worship the Holy Spirit.
IDK how you worship precisely and I don't know if I need to know. If by," not in the same way" you mean HOW- you may stand on your head- I really dont mind. lol

The Spirit is the Lord and the Lord is the the spirit. Christ's spirit in you? God's spirit in you? It is all God.
When the Word was made flesh what happened?
-The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the holy Child will be called the Son of God. --Luke 1:35

Aside from the Q about when He was first called, "son" . I told you that is a fairly common issue. It does not take away from the fact that Jesus on earth was both the son of a human and the son of THE MOST HIGH. Therefore, he is not just a man like you.

BTW the pastor, John MacArthur, has an article on the sonship issue. He used to believe one way and changed his view after many years. I used to listen to him many years ago. Think about how popular he was while holding that view.H
I still have His Hebrews commentary from back then.
.
P.S.

If the result is the same, then why did your spiritual ancestors persecute, anathematize, torture and execute my spiritual ancestors?
I have tried to extend a hand to you. Seems you want to be different on "it" particulars and strongly insist upon that. I've told you I considered the IT theory in my past, but
Jesus had memories of His heavenly time and glory with His father.
He also had emotions of love shared in His memories,
He flat out stated that He came down from heaven.
That did it for me- the Word was an "it" just doesn't work.

I also don't think that the time I spent thinking an "it' was right that I was not a Christian. I also wasn't planning on screaming it from the roof tops to upset the faith of others.

Have it your way, Matt, but we both were we created by the same God, and are saved by the same God, and both hope to be with Him forever.
When I think of God I can't separate His salvation from Him. *God is our salvation. His salvation is found only in His Son. So yes, when I worship, I worship the whole package of who my God is. I certainly don't picture 3 gods but only One.
You have an odd way of looking at things.
*Psalm 68:19, 79:9, 25:5, 27:9, 89:26, 62:6
If you have a problem with that then I am sorry to hear it.

As far as your comment about who my "spiritual ancestors" , you are way off dude. I give up. You have a need to be divisive and that's too bad. Your spiritual ancestors would be Jews?- the ones who killed Jesus? See anyone can attack. It doesn't make it right.
I am just a gentile Christian. Oh well. So are you. I prefer to think of the apostles as my spiritual ancestors. So do you.
I don’t know why she did. People like posts for various reasons.
yeah well that was rhetorical. I know her better than she does sometimes.

So you went from Catholic to JW to Christian?

I take it you don't consider Catholics or JW's Christian?

I did not say that. I only refer to myself as a Christian, and by no other denominational name. I attend a church that is no other denomination than Christian, and many many churches are that way.

Now that you mention it though, it is a good topic for another thread. I do not like diverting other people's threads.

I brought it up for Christological reasons.

Are you also of the Jesus is dead forever cult?

No.

I know of no one who believes God was conceived.

Jesus was conceived. If I were a betting man I would wager that you know plenty of people who believe Jesus is literally God.

Yes Jesus was conceived. The word became flesh.
No, I'm sorry but I don't know of anyone, personally. If I did I would try to help them.
Although , I have read on forums where some seem to be saying that, but I tend to think either they just are not being very clear at the time, & many who aren't clear themselves about what they were actually taught.
The internet is a wild thing and you see EVERYTHING on here.
It is not the norm in my world.
It's akin to watching the news and thinking that everyone is all for trannie sex operations on minors. I think the reality of that is actually about 2%. It's not a good indicator of the real world.
For instance, if looked at only this forum and others to see what Christianity was about- I would RUN FAR and FAST.

Jesus was truly born of a woman and of God. Was He not?

Jesus was begotten by God / conceived by a woman. To be begotten / conceived is to be brought into existence. The woman gave birth to a human person.

I have tried to extend a hand to you. Seems you want to be different on "it" particulars and strongly insist upon that.

A one person God isn’t a three person God. I strongly insist on that.

You have an odd way of looking at things.

The way that I look at things - the way which you say is odd - is Hebraic / Jewish

As far as your comment about who my "spiritual ancestors" , you are way off dude. I give up.

I was alluding to trinitarians.

You have a need to be divisive and that's too bad.

Doctrine is divisive. There’s nothing bad about sound doctrine.

Your spiritual ancestors would be Jews?

Yes.

- the ones who killed Jesus?

No.

I prefer to think of the apostles as my spiritual ancestors. So do you.

They are Jewish monotheists, not trinitarians.

Yes Jesus was conceived.

Then Jesus didn’t literally preexist.

The word became flesh.

In Jewish monotheism the Father’s word - not a literally preexisting Son - became flesh.

No, I'm sorry but I don't know of anyone, personally. If I did I would try to help them.

I’ve never met a trinitarian who didn’t believe that Jesus is literally God.

For cryin out loud. lol Jesus was the WORD WHO BECAME FLESH who yes, also happened to be born of a woman. What is so hard about this?

If you can show me where your Jewish monotheists taught you that an "it" became flesh then, maybe I will agree with you.

No, they do not say that Jesus is God the Father. Perhaps, you need that clarified by asking.

You haven’t grasped my theology. You don’t seem to have grasped that though I was raised in trinitarian theology I now reject it. It isn’t the Messiah’s theology.

If you can show me where your Jewish monotheists taught you that an "it" became flesh then, maybe I will agree with you.

See John’s prologue to his Gospel in all English translations translated from Greek to English prior to 1611.

No, they do not say that Jesus is God the Father.

Of course they don’t. Trinitarianism prohibits any such idea. They say that the Son is literally God.

Perhaps, you need that clarified by asking.

I don’t.

No? is it that I needed to reverse it? The word who became flesh is Jesus. Is that better?

Apparently not, Matt. Feel free to explain what you do believe sometimes. this is going in circles.
I have never hinged the faith of someone on comprehending a confusing creed.
See John’s prologue to his Gospel in all English translations translated from Greek to English prior to 1611.
Ok so this is about the pronouns. I know some Greek- and quite enough to be dangerous.
They say that the Son is literally God.
Since you are not asking for clarification then that is why you think that.
I don’t.
You should!!

I have.

My creed is simple. It is the Messiah’s creed; the creed of Judaism. The God of Israel is the Father alone.

Ok so this is about the pronouns. I know some Greek- and quite enough to be dangerous.

How many persons do you see in John’s prologue?

Since you are not asking for clarification then that is why you think that.

I was raised believing that the Son of God is literally God. I was raised trinitarian.

You should!!

I suppose your point is that sometimes people say and believe they are trinitarian when in fact they aren’t. If someone self-identifies as trinitarian but says the Son of God isn’t literally God then such a person in fact isn’t a trinitarian.

It did not exist as far as I know but what do I know, maybe it was in a garage somewhere incomplete. lol

It preexisted in the mind of God.

Where was Jesus before he was created? The same place the earth was before it was created. That is Jewish monotheism.

HOWEVER, THE WORD DID EXIST. and the WORD BECAME FLESH --

The word is God’s self-expression.
