@Armour of God, do you remember the alarmists hysteria that the heat was going into the ocean instead of the atmosphere?

In talking to a rabid alarmist who had all the facts of global rise in ocean temperatures, Inasked what climatologist predicted this phenomena 5 years before? He couldn’t even look at me. LOL This is because he only wanted to be given credit for confidently delivering speculative statements - not put it to the test. Again, the power of science rests in its predictive power and he very reluctantly had to abdicate that ground.

Science is all about making predictions. Once those predictions are found to be wrong then it should mean that the theory or hypothesis is dead.
In the 90s they said sea levels would rise. They got it wrong yet people keep believing their nonsensical pseudo-science

There probably is no literature that cites the alarmist claims of Greta.
Probably not. Shouldn't that be a clue for you? Instead of listening to oil companies, middle school kids, and politicians, read the actual science. And you'll be harder to fool.

I go back to the moral foundation of examining the data. From the OP

One would think they’d be happy to learn life on the planet is not at risk.

In addition, they have NO INTEREST in understanding how warming is good for life on Earth. I don’t believe any topic exposes misanthropism more than global warming alarmists.

Besides isn't the biggest cause of temperature change the sun?
Apparently not:

The most recent solar cycle was relatively quiet, leading to a lot of fearmongering over an impending Grand Solar Minimum, a longer period of time spanning several cycles where even the maximums are subdued. Reports suggested global temperatures would plummet, producing a mini ice age. NASA gave this idea a sound drubbing earlier this year.

"The warming caused by the greenhouse gas emissions from the human burning of fossil fuels is six times greater than the possible decades-long cooling from a prolonged Grand Solar Minimum," wrote the NASA Global Climate Change team in February.

"Even if a Grand Solar Minimum were to last a century, global temperatures would continue to warm. Because more factors than just variations in the Sun's output change global temperatures on Earth, the most dominant of those today being the warming coming from human-induced greenhouse gas emissions."

A single massive volcanic eruption can lower global temperatures.

Because they scatter and absorb incoming sunlight, aerosol particles exert a cooling effect on the Earth’s surface. The Pinatubo eruption increased aerosol optical depth in the stratosphere by a factor of 10 to 100 times normal levels measured prior to the eruption. (“Aerosol optical depth” is a measure of how much light airborne particles prevent from passing through a column of atmosphere.) Consequently, over the next 15 months, scientists measured a drop in the average global temperature of about 1 degree F (0.6 degrees C).

Hanson's predictions included the effects of at least one such eruption. One degree doesn't seem like much, but globally, it's a huge effect.

Almost right. Hypotheses are predictions. When Hypotheses are repeatedly verified by subsequent evidence, they are then theories. If subsequent evidence is contrary to a theory, the theory is modified or discarded.

In the 90s they said sea levels would rise.

Satellites confirm 1990s sea-level predictions were shockingly accurate

September 6, 2025 Source:Tulane University
Satellite data reveals sea-level rise has unfolded almost exactly as predicted by 1990s climate models, with one key underestimation: melting ice sheets. Researchers stress the importance of refining local projections as seas continue to rise faster than before.

The sea level around Florida is up to 8 inches higher than it was in 1950.

The data shows that the largest factor for Gulf Stream weakening is likely an increased influx of freshwater from the melting Arctic and Greenland ice. If that stream stops moving, it could actually cause Northern Europe to get colder.

Deniers got it wrong once again. yet a few people keep believing their nonsensical pseudo-science

Most of this rise is due to thermal expansion of warmer ocean waters. But increasingly, melting from continental glaciers and collapse of coastal ice in Antarctica has contributed to this. The good news is that Arctic Ocean melting won't raise sea levels for the same reason that ice cubes melting in a glass of water won't raise the level of water in the glass.

James Hanson of NASA, for one. His predictions, made decades before it happened, were precisely right. BTW, physics would predict more heat going into the oceans. Water has an extremely high specific heat, meaning that it takes more thermal energy to warm up a given mass of water than of other materials like stone or metal. Since thermodynamics shows that heat flows from hotter to colder masses, oceans would have to absorb more thermal energy than land.

Lots more of that...

Who said I was listening to such people?
Seems to me you are reverting to your lies again. I was making fun of that girl, not listening to her nonsense.

There are a number of vids that show this time lag. This is why I've posted that the global warming hoax has cause and effect backwards - by about 800 years.
You've been badly misled about that...

Rise in CO2 is followed very quickly by a rise in temperature.
Of course the biggest cause of temperature change the sun! It explains why other planetary bodies have gotten warmer - including Pluto!
As you learned, Pluto has a very eccentric orbit. Currently, it's a lot closer to the sun than normal. So its warmer.

They said islands were going to disappear and that coastal cities would get flooded.
They said Mt Kilimanjaro would never see snow again.
None of that happened.
Hypothesis was incorrect.
End of theory.

Sea levels around Florida have risen up to 8 inches since 1950, and are now rising as much as 1 inch every 3 years, mainly due to a slowing Gulf Stream. Because of sea level rise, tidal flooding in some areas of the state has increased by 352% since 2000,

They said islands were going to disappear
I don't see that in the predictions. Some low islands have disappeared, but most are higher than 8 inches above. The big issue in Florida now is salt water rise into freshwater aquifers.

Saltwater intrusion threatens Florida’s drinking water supply

Over-extraction of the aquifer and rising sea levels allow saltwater to encroach into Florida’s groundwater

Flooding has increased:
https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/environment/climate-change/article312369377.html

But it would take another 5 inches of rise to permanently flood large areas of Florida.

I recall some European pseudo scientist said even if everything we believe about global warming is not true, we should still proceed AS IF it is true in going away from fossil fuels as a new central organizing principle.

Australia has an abundance of coal.
It was built on coal fire electricity which is very cheap. Now they've closed down all the coal fire plants and replaced them with wind and solar. This has made electricity extremely expensive now for everyone.

Industries that use a lot of power have been forced to move offshore such as the production of steel, plastics, concrete and such.

Meanwhile Australia still mines coal and sells it to China. Most of their electricity comes from coal.

Australia also sells iron ore to China, they make steel and then Australia buys the steel.

Same with other metals, we mine copper, nickel, chromium, bauxite. But we export it to others for them to make copper, stainless steel and aluminium.

We are a huge exporter of uranium but politicians won't even consider nuclear power.

Australia has plenty of oil. Back in the year 2000 Australia was refining enough fuel for ourselves and enough to even export.

Now we only have 2 oil refineries. We export the oil to others for them to refine it to fuel for us to buy.

How stupid is Australia?
We won't burn coal yet we're one of the biggest exporters of it.
We export iron and other metals to others for them to make metal for us to buy.
We export oil to others for them to refine it to fuel for us to buy it.
We export uranium but don't use it ourselves.

How stupid is that???
Australia has industrially murdered itself while making other countries like China very rich. All in the name of climate change.

Also we had a lot of electricity coming from hydro plants. That's a very cheap and clean way to make electricity, no pollution, but the politicians aren't interested in it. Why not? Because their invested in wind and solar. It's rubbish. Especially wind power, it's a joke, it produces very little power and is very expensive.

Those 3 thin blades are a crap design for a windmill. I could design a much better one than that with more blades that are wider to better catch the wind

And guess where we buy those windmills and solar panels from... China. While they hardly use them at all and use our coal instead for their electricity
