“For all things are for your sakes, that the Abundant Grace might
through the thanksgiving of many redound to the Glory of God.”
—II Cor. 4:15

It is said that the word “thanksgiving,” in one or another of its forms, flows from
the heart and pen of Paul more than 50 times, while in all the rest of the New
Testament Scriptures it is found only 21 times...

...What a contrast this was to the pagan world about him!...Five hundred years
of paganism showed its results in the great moral and spiritual depravity of the
Egyptian dynasties...

...Disrespect and Ingratitude...little wonder...

...“God...gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves” (Rom. 1:24)...

...how did Paul combat heathenism in his day?...

...in the passage we are considering to “our gospel” (II Cor. 4:3), he says:

“But we have this Treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellency of the Power May Be Of God, and not of us” (Ver. 7).

We do not put diamonds and rubies and other precious items in “earthen vessels.”

What a certainly good thing it is to be thankful to the God who created each and everyone single one of us, as his creations. Even more to give thanksgiving as a son or a daughter adopted into the faith, through believing in the Gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto Salvation.

The first century Christians had it so much worse than we do today, and they were being killed first handedly by their faith, by their own brethren the Jews, and Romans. They were even persecuted heavily, starved to death, and all the while they had a gleam in their eye to wait and continue to press into faith loving their enemies, and to be patient under trials and tribulations that were far more exceedingly worse than what people may experience today in this age of fulfillment.

Thankfulness, praise God with thanking him in the morning, for the breathe of life that is given, and those who you may get to socialize with on any given day, because no one is promised tomorrow.
