But Paul claimed both, as an Israelite born of the tribe of Benjamin, and also as a Jew. By his claiming both puts the term 'Jew' in proper perspective as also a 'region' title, like Californian. It's not unlike the usage of the term Christian today; anyone can be a Christian simply by accepting The Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Anyone can become a 'Jew' simply by accepting the Jew's religion. That... Apostle Paul had accepted before Christ converted him, and thus he also was a 'Jew'. Likewise, with all the foreigners living in the lands of Judea, they became known as Jews by following their religion. And some of those foreigners were leftovers from the nations of Canaan, and also Edom.
So your attempts to try and paint the title 'Jew' in some pure way, not really understanding what Paul meant in Romans 2:29, just does not work. Paul was not pointing to the flesh in Romans 2:29 when using the Greek word Ioudaios translated to English as "Jew". He was pointing to the idea of the 'spiritual Israelite' who's Faith was the same as Abraham's Faith, that being on God's original Promise to Abraham, which was by Faith ONLY, and NOT BY THE LAW (see Galatians 3). One paying attention in the Book of Genesis will discover that God gave Abraham the 'token' of flesh circumcision only AFTER... He gave the Promise and that Abraham believed, and Abraham's Faith was counted to him as righteousness.
Therefore, you CANNOT bring flesh circumcision into that Romans 2:29 meaning.
That idea shows a lack of understanding much Bible history and prophecy in both OT and NT. If those born of one of the tribes of Israel, i.e., flesh Israelites, has no more meaning per The New Covenant, then WHY... did Lord Jesus promise His 12 Apostles they each would sit upon a throne in His future Kingdom judging over the 12 tribes of Israel??? (Matthew 19:27-28).
Those who forget what Lord Jesus promised those 12 Israelites that He chose, reveal they are busy playing churchianity instead of staying in His Holy Word as written. Those might want to look at what God also said in Jeremiah 31 that the literal nation of Israel is forever.
Anyone can become a 'Jew' simply by accepting the Jew's religion.
Anyone can be called a Jew by being in the false religion called the Jews religion. And anyone can be called an Israelite in name only by being born of a carnal bloodline, which is no longer any different than any bloodline on earth today, because now all people are born of one blood (Acts 17), even as the days of Adam.
So your attempts to try and paint the title 'Jew' in some pure way, not really understanding what Paul meant in Romans 2:29, just does not work.
The simple and pure reading of Scripture just will not work with someone who refuses to be instructed. You finally made an effort to actually address my argument after months of my insistence, and I appreciate it, but you fell short. So, believe what you want.
'spiritual Israelite'
There is no such thing on earth at this time as a 'spiritual' Israelite, Israel, church, and body of Christ, even as Jesus was not just a 'spiritual Christ' temporarily inhabiting a human body: even as He came in the flesh, so the Israel, church, and body of Christ walks today in flesh, but not after the flesh.
The Israel of old covenant was naturally born by physical seed, and the Israel of God today is spiritually born in natural bodies.
You are trying to spiritualize away Scriptural reality in order to cling to a carnal-minded reading of Scriptural prophecy.
Therefore, you CANNOT bring flesh circumcision into that Romans 2:29 meaning.
Tell that to the Scripture:
Neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter.
Your willingness to reject Scripture at it's word, and so refuse to allow circumcision outward in the flesh to be considered, tells the whole tale here. Once someone goes down the road of refusing to change their most cherished imaginations about Scripture, in the face of opposing Scripture, they will ultimately and finally contradict Scripture, and refuse to accept it as written.
At this point therefore, you are no longer to be taken seriously. You are no longer useful in this matter.
then WHY... did Lord Jesus promise His 12 Apostles they each would sit upon a throne in His future Kingdom judging over the 12 tribes of Israel???
Which included Judas at the time. And Jesus already knew He had become a devil (John 6) and would fall in the end to his own destruction as the son of perdition (John 17); therefore, He was prophesying how the rest would be converted after His death, as well as, He would be choosing another Apostle for Himself: Paul.
And these would sit on thrones judging Israel on earth during His reign.
You reading of Scripture is dim, because your carnal-minded view of prophecy of Scripture is darkened by the flesh.
Those who forget what Lord Jesus promised those 12 Israelites that He chose, reveal they are busy playing churchianity instead of staying in His Holy Word as written.
Once again, those 12 Israelites included Judas at the time. I do not say you forget this, but rather simply overlook it in your zeal to play with prophecy of Scripture, through a carnal minded reading of His Holy Word. (Saying 'His Holy Word' doesn't make one more authoritative.)
God also said in Jeremiah 31 that the literal nation of Israel is forever.
If the reigning Lord will once again revive the old covenant with the blood of bulls and goats to be sacrificed for sins, then he will also restore for himself a physical seed of promise and naturally born national Israel to serve Him in the promised land of Abraham.
If not, then the prophecy of promise, that God gave to Jeremiah to encourage the captives of Babylon, will never be fulfilled, because as with all God's promises, they are conditioned on 'if' the ones promised to, do their part to believe and obey.
They missed their chance when the Redeemer came to them Personally to confirm that promise (Rom 15:8), but if the Lord wants to fulfill it for them anyway, then that is His right.
Tell that to Scripture: neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
