Thankfully, learning to be creative again wasn't as hard as I thought. Our minds can adjust within a few days once we decide to engage with things that require focus.

Today was good.

I got out a watercolor set and used it in an adult coloring book. I ended up mixing colors with a cup of water and my fingers. No masterpiece. But I felt really alive.

As a kid before I got a laptop, Id do all kinds of artwork. But I stopped valuing things that wouldn't "get me ahead" as I got older. Add in brain rot from Facebook notifications, a husband, kids, and it seemed like my creativity dried up completely.

The good thing is, creativity always comes back when welcomed.

Is anyone else healing from brain rot?

In the corporate world, brain rot is associated with an endless stream of emails, conference calls, status meetings, reports, et. al.

My brain must look like a rotting banana.

Sometimes motivational content and productivity idolization can be brain rot. Not that Im against all brain rot.

Too much motivation (or too little) and you're always discontent with where you're currently at. Too much productivity and you lose who you are.

Create bad art.
Create for the joy of it.
Not to monetize.
For the joy of it.
There's dust on our souls from the world's pressure to conform.
Art dusts it off.
