LDS Christians are not sola scriptura (like every other Christian group). Rather than skirting the issue and pretending to be sola scriptura, LDS Christians firmly proclaim that God still speaks and guides HIs people.

I do think there is eternal value in being able to say from Scripture: "Thus saith the LORD".

Something LDS Christians 100% agree with.

But that doesn't mean pretending that God is gagged. I have never ever met a Christian who was truly sola scriptura or believed in this idea of a silent God whom abandons His people.

They are not the only ones making that proclamation, but it seems some of those who do say it do not really believe it anyway.

I guess that many people have decided that, but if carrying the designation matters to God at all, isn't He alone the one to render the final judgment for or against each person [not each group] based on complete knowledge of that person?
