Show us where the OT clearly distinguishes between Apollyon and Satan. The name Apollyon (Hebrew: Abaddon) is not even mentioned anywhere in the OT.

Who do you think the locusts in Revelation 9 represent? Do you not understand that they represent fallen angels? If you do understand that, then who does scripture say is the king of the fallen angels? Verses like Matthew 25:41 and Revelation 12:9 call them "his angels" in reference to Satan. So, the description of Apollyon being the king of the locusts only fits Satan if you understand that the locusts represent the fallen angels.

Satan has multiple names besides Satan. Apollyon is one of them. Another name for Satan is Beelzebub, as the Pharisees called him (Matthew 12:24). Many believe his original name was Lucifer. Paul's reference to "Belial" in 2 Corinthians 6:15 is likely a reference to Satan, also. Each name describes a different characteristic of who the devil is. The name Satan means Adversary or Accuser. The name Apollyon means Destroyer. Satan is both an adversary/accuser and a destroyer.
