You got it. Have you ever heard the expression---Its all about who you know.
Yes, Hell awaits the unbeliever.
I wonder if Hell has a complaint form or a suggestion box.
Tell them to pack the ear plugs and barbeque sauce in the casket, you'll need them.

Like I said, atheism takes the greatest faith.
Logically I recommend Christianity, if I am right, you go an eternal reward, if I am wrong, you will not exist to know the difference.
Either way you have time to look into it. Read the Bible, look into the science of it. Science and archeology are proving the truths of the Bible all the time.
Ah Pascal's wager.
The problem is that Pascal's wager only accounts for two possibilities. I can think of many variants...
What if there is a God and it's not bothered about how it's creation goes... It's lost interest ?
What if God only lets homosexual people into his kingdom ?
What if there isn't a God but there is a heaven that everyone goes to regardless of their opinions?
What if you're wrong and Islam is correct... What then? Are you burning for eternity?

Good luck everyone. I hope that you all get what you deserve.
Thank you for responding. You might think we have been chastising you, but in fact we hope you will see the light: God offers abundant life and hope for the future for those who love Him and their neighbors. That opportunity awaits you.

Jesus was condemned by the religious authorities of his day for associating with what they called the dregs of society. But Jesus knew the lost needed true spiritual leadership, and spoke to them with compassion.

As for “getting what we deserve,” you are invited to read (or reread) Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son (easily found in on-line Bibles). In short: The son abandoned his family and ruined his life, but then repented and threw himself on the mercy of his father. Did the son deserve condemnation and punishment? (His older, pious brother thought so.) But in fact his father welcomed him with open arms and restored him completely.

So if you are thinking we deserve God’s wrath for our pasts, we do not disagree. Rather, we know it is never too late to repent, embrace Him as guide and mentor, strive (with His help) to love our neighbors, and await His grace.

Peace be with you.

Hello
Nice to be here, I'm a 56 year old married gentleman with four grown up children (30) (28) (20) (18) I couldn't think of any names for them so I just gave them a number each...
(That was a joke btw)
I love animals and have a rough collie called Odin, he's four years old and is my profile picture.
I'm into sports and am a keen supporter of Manchester United. My wife and I work full time, I'm a caretaker and my wife is a midwife.
Anyway, that's it for now, I don't want to waffle on too much.
Hello and welcome.
In this thread you have posed many hypothetical questions and a couple that were very well thought out. Well done. It shows that you have given the 'God question' at least a cursory consideration during your 56 years on this speck of dirt and water in the universe.
Some of your questions reveal that you think your morality is greater than that of God. Frankly speaking... (can I be frank for a moment instead of Jim?)....that is rather arrogant. Such questions betray a sort of disingenuousness on your part because you claim not to believe in ANY God yet elevate yourself to that status. When all 8 billion of us do that...well, you can just look around and see the chaos that that creates. This fact alone REQUIRES we defer to a Law Giver.

To make a long dissertation far shorter than it deserves, I've noted that many of your questions do not reveal a quest for Truth but rather they are just a defense system you constructed so you can continue in self imposed ignorance. I must ask you: Does you truly wish to know IF there is any such thing as transcendent Truth or not?

If you answer in the affirmative, might I suggest that you ask HIM if He is real rather than us? He has promised that those who seek Him with their whole heart will NOT be rejected.

Good day, sir.

P.S. By asking when God began or where He might be are questions that betray your lack of understanding. The Creator created time, space and matter. By definition He is not constrained by any of those and is OUTSIDE of time, space or matter. Therefore He has no beginning nor end nor can He be restricted to any single space.

There are no "what ifs" to those who know, and have tasted of His presence. Once you know, there is no unknowing.

Psalm 34:8
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

You will never know (in this life) unless you sincerely ask Him to show Himself.

Deuteronomy 4:29
“But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”

But if you wait till this life is over ... you will meet Him face to face. Why wait?

I apologise to everyone here if I have come across as arrogant.
I don't know anything for certain, I've never claimed to know anything for certain.

Looking back at what I've posted I can see why I've been met with a degree of contempt.

I can't really help what my brain is telling me, I can't just change years upon years of ingrained thoughts.

I hope your feelings were not hurt and that our behavior hasn't hardened your heart toward God and Christ.

If you would still be willing to engage; could you reply to the issues in my previous post?

Every baby born is an atheist, they're shaped by the people around them.
This is an assumption. I'm not trying to argue. But I, as a survivor of satanic ritual abuse from the womb, have a distinct memory of my prebirth/ birth. Due to there being a satanic ritual dedication, I, as an infant did not want to be born because I sensed satan's literal presence.... his hands ready to receive me. I fought being birthed because of the presence of evil. My family, and the adults in my life weren't Christian. Yet, as an infant, I knew I didn't want to even live if it meant I was to be touched by the evil one. Babies know a lot more than people realize.

I'm going to honest now, and I must admit that I haven't been honest with the world or myself for that matter for a long time.

I was in hospital recently with pneumonia. I was on a respiratory ward for nearly a month.
I got to know the guy in the next bed to me... He was a Christian, a really nice man. He told me that he was born in sight of WBA stadium in Birmingham. I met his wife and all of his children and grandchildren when they visited him, we became good friends.

One day I woke to the sound of him struggling for breath and doctors and nurses around him trying to stabilise him... He was taken off the ward to intensive care where he stayed for almost a week before returning. When he got back we joked about him having a close call with death. He was really calm about it though as if he knew something that I didn't. He never mentioned his faith, the only reason that I knew that he was Christian was that every night after lights out he'd pray and thank Jesus.

He died in his sleep or so I was told by the sister, although I only knew him for a short time I'll never forget him and his calmness in the face of death.

It made me think. That's why I'm here. I'm here because I'm scared, I'm here because I don't know anything.

Thank you for baring your soul.
I get it. Oftentimes, it is the calm assurance and quiet nonverbal testimony of Christians that speaks loudest of the Reality that is Christ Jesus.
I will say again:
If you want to know something about someone, it is best if you talk to Him rather than His friends, because HE will never misguided you.
Just ask Him;
"Show me Jesus".

This means you weren't honest before.

How can I be sure you're being honest now??

About being in hospital?
I can show you the correspondence from Leighton hospital if you like.
I can describe how it feels to have pneumonia and rattly fluid filled lungs if you like.
I don't know what else would be sufficient.
