Have you compared the Geneva Bible translation of the prologue in John’s Gospel with NKJV and / or other translations?

Matthias why don't we let Riven read the Bible and be glad for that?

I’ve been encouraging him to read the Bible ever since he became a member here. I’m delighted to hear that he is.

Has he requested that his membership status be changed from “Agnostic” to “Christian”? @Riven?

Then I believed that Jesus was the Son of God; he died on the cross for our sins and rose again. The Bible tells us that his blood cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7. Confession brings forgiveness from God, and he will cleanse us from unrighteousness when we do this. The Bible does not tell us to accept the Nicene Creed or do anything else to be saved except that we confess and believe in Jesus. 1 John 1:9.

@Riven Here's the Nicene Creed sung to lovely tranquil music by Richard Inman at Counter Media UK.

It simply tells the fundamental doctrines of our Christian faith. When it refers to holy Catholic Church it means the universal Christian Church...not the Roman Catholic Church.

Are you unsure about how many persons John is speaking about in the prologue? Has the new group you’re fellowshipping with given you a number that agrees or disagrees with what you see when you read it?

The eternal Word (the Word) is speaking of Jesus Christ.
This is the Gospel of John.

Right. That was my mistake. I was thinking it was later on when John talks to the Pharisees when he's doing baptisms.

If you would, take a look now at the Geneva Bible I quoted (in post #105). Do you still see two persons?

The biggest block for me is both the bible and God himself. The biblical stories jist don't make sense to me. Especially the stories contained in the Old Testament. In many ways, I view Genesis as a sort of litmus test.

Are Not “Supposed” to make “sense” to a Carnal “Logical” mind that “weighs the Words between this and that”.

The “protocol”… Scripturally is “PARENTS” teach your “children YOUNG”, little by little, bit by bit.

The concept IS… for the Parent to be the “role model”…
Don’t lie, cheat, steal.
Provide for your own.
Give your children “Knowledge”… and if the child TRUSTS the Parent…the child will Trust, what the Parent “Teaches”… whether or not the little child… understands or can yet reason.

It is the “Experience” and “Results” of Trust, a child will gravitate toward.

If a child…misses that early experience…it can be more difficult…

As you become an adult…YOU become responsible, to “choose”, to start with a child’s mindset and patience and guidance that you missed.

I was not raised in a “church going religious environment”. right / wrong was the standard, without the religious aspect.

The Word of God, IS Jesus.
The point of Him being sent to Earth…
WAS precisely… the dilemma human men encountered…trying to get “Adults” wavering unsure of Belief… in something Spiritual, they Could NOT:
See, hear, smell, taste, touch… precisely what our “senses” do to communicate, and our carnal mind can “logically” conclude a belief of probability.

Spirits… God, holy angels, demon angels …
Have extraordinary Power to take upon themselves the LIKENESS, LOOK, BEHAVIORS….AS a human man.

Scripture teaches, regardless of your circumstances, your age….
Begin, Come to the Word of God…”AS” a child…
Try it, Trust it…and SEE for yourself How After a genuine Effort… IF… you experience Blessings, from out of the blue.

The greater “Your effort”, hearing, reading Gods Word… God Gives Measures of His GIFT of Faith… equal to your measure of Effort.

Notice… its baby steps. It is Not intended to be satisfying your Carnal mind, your senses, your understanding… it is simply baby steps to Trust, experience blessings, leading to the gifts measures of Faith…
And Later to increase in Faith…that begins the Understanding process… also a Gift from God…
Much later, it supersedes the carnal mind to
YEILD to Spirit over matter.

Trying to begin with the MIND, is a fail…and frustrating….especially as an adult.

Romans 8:
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Matt 18:
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

@Matthias Since @Riven had obviously read the wrong passage, I simply posted the correct passage and briefly commented.

Since Riven is now trusting Christ as his Savior, we should be glad of that. Matthias you don't believe in the Trinity but we Christians do.
