@TitusTwoWife,

IMO, home is the most important place to do ministry. Ever hear of Odo Amoris? Means Order of Love from Acquinas.

Nothing anyone ever does is more important than properly raising the next generation. I’m very proud of you.

W
lets add a few words into that last sentence .
namely these , in raising the next generation IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD , in that BIBLE
and keeping them far from a harlots love and rather tuned into THE ACTUAL LOVE OF GOD . cause mama ho
is a liar and her ecumeincal cup is a lie .

I often battle with bad expectations of myself as a homemaker. For example, thinking I should constantly be doing chores and never take breaks.

Homemaking has a lot of freedom in it. It's me who tries to make it more restrictive than it actually is. Sometimes its important to lighten up, have fun, and enjoy magical little moments just as much as being productive.

I want Spirit-led homemaking. I want to do things without worry like the lilies of the field. I want moments of laughter and joy.

I want dimples, smiles, and tickle-fests. I want to be the Mom who let's God take her anxiety. I want to thank God for food when I do the dishes and thank Him fir clothes when I fold the laundry.

I want to sing my song of joy to the Lord for the wild beauty of it all.

I googled Spirit-led homemaking and couldn't find anything directly under it. Ill try to talk about it more.

Spirit-led homemaking is a Kingdom first approach to homemaking where you are open to being nudged about what's important and when directly from the Holy Spirit. It does not make homemaking well an end in itself but sees the daily tasks involved as spiritually advantageous to practice love, joy, and other fruit of the Spirit.

Don't fight the sanctifying process of sacrifice in motherhood, chores, and spousal duties. Let it store up treasures in heaven. Let it humble you to cry out to God for strength. Let is crucify your selfish desires.

When my little ones wake up, they are entirely dependent on me to feed, clothes, change, and bathe them. This is how God must see us. And because mothering is being like God, no wonder it is called a sacred ministry. The true ministry is not out there somewhere, it always starts at home.

I think the home as a form of ministry is so important. Its really the greatest ministry even over the church.

Paul mentions that if a husband cannot manage his own home then how can he overseer the church.

The home and damily use to be the first institution in society. It was a big influence that kept the State in check. The home and family took care of child rearing and installed morality and values in life. Healthy and strong families meant healthy and strong nations.

But this has been undermined in recent times as the welfare State takes over and encroaches into family life and the home.

I think Christians need to get back to this basic truth and value with the church encouraging and supporting parents to take responsibility and especially fathers and men who should set a good example.

I believe Pauls teaching does not just apply to overseers of the church. The same principle applies to all fathers to take responsibility. To love and sacrifice for their families. A child needs a mother and together they make a strong family. This is the ministry of parenthood.

This is how a strong church is built but also a strong society. Its no coincident that the many problems we see today coincides with the undermining and breakdown of parenthood and the family. Especially fatherless children.

But also for anyone learning how to set and example and get along with others in a household is a ministry in itself. It can be very hard to live in close quarters with others. Especially through the hard times.

Sometimes we have to submit to others as Christians even when we may think we are in the right. The temptation can be to react or dispute. Especially when people are close. But I think this is learning to be more Christlike. Learning to love others and forgive. I think this is really where ministry starts.

I can't help but think of how this has devastated African Americans. It may not be across the board, given that I had a present father, but most of my African American friends did not have a present father. This has been devastating.

I learned that before the Civil rights movement and Welfare, African Americans did fine in this country. Harlem NY used to be relatively safe and people would sleep in the open air and in the parks. We were a God fearing, industrious, and patriotic people grateful to live in this country. Its a shame how so many have turned to a Marxist victimized mindset.

@TitusTwoWife, I saw this vid and thought you might get something from it.

A lot of women have forgotten how to play the game of encouraging what they want. Check this out

1000002448.jpg

These women want to nag and criticize their husbands for doing the dishes for them instead of being grateful he did the dishes.

If a woman really wants her husband to keep doing something, she should thank him and flirt with him, not become a victim.

I have also heard that African American slaves had strong families and communities. This was the basis for helping them through the horrors of slavery.

In fact their belief brought many stories and great gospels and the blues. This was the foundation for the churches that grew in the US which were part of the Civil rights movement. They were proud and strong.

I think this is a great example for todays Christians. But also for all people and society. The family and the extended church community is what sustained people through much harder times than today.

We hear of many complaints about how unfair and hard life is today. But despite all the hard times the example from the early African American community shows the power of Godly families and communities. Something that is gradually disappearing.

I know what it's like to fail.

I put my all in and still came up short.

You will never be an excellent homemaker. All you will ever be is sub-par.

I've heard the call to throw in the towel.

But I kept going

imperfect

not enough energy

too many things to handle.

Do not grow weary of doing good for in due season you will reap if you do not give up.

While I was struggling, the season did indeed change. I got my diet right and finally got the energy I needed. Now the enemy is put to flight because the banner of Christ's power rest on me and He has the victory.

My Husband: I choose to work this hard so your life can be easier.

Me: That means I need to obsess over housework and frugality to make up for not having an income, right?

Him: I literally just like when you relax.

Me: This is hard for me to understand.

Husband: Do you want our kids to stress about bills?

Me: No.

Husband: That's how I feel about you.
