How can there be life after death?

First you need to know that atheists will not even have a spiritual body. They will end up in the LAKE OF FIRE—to be blotted out of existence at the Second Death. Believers, on the other hand, will exist eternally in spiritual bodies that never get old, never experience pain or sorrow.

Thanks. There is ambiguity in the statement, as the note is pointing out, and I agree that “I have been in existence” is a possible alternative reading. The issue then is preexistence.

How are you able to process anything around you without a brain?

Some think Jesus' story of the rich man and Lazarus is a parable, but many do not see it that way. They believe these are two dead humans that really lived, and their consciousness lived on after their body died. One on the "light" side called Abraham's bosom, or paradise; and the other on the "dark" side where the rich man complained of heat and flames. Obviously, their brains would be no more, neither would there be any electrical firings, just nothing. That is as far as you can see, but Jesus sees more...

Personally, I think the heat and flames is pre-judgment consciousness in the grave called the "outer darkness," and then the damned suffer the "second death" and are totally dead and no more. Why? Because there is no eternal life for the damned, and there is no Tree of Life in hell. After all, hell was not made for man, but for Satan and his demons who will suffer forever.
