I certainly do not have all the answers, but I believe that the bad things that happen to people are a consequence of The Fall we read about in the book of Genesis—the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve disobeyed God's specific command not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (Satan).

You know, I was in a bad car accident a few years ago. Everyone says it should have killed me. But I managed to live with a broken sternum and some cervical issues.

They said that the Lord was watching over me. But what about all of the people that died that day in car crashes? Why didn't the Lord protect them? I'm still waiting for an answer on that one.
It's hard to answer these questions because I've faced a lot of sorrow in my own life. But even through the tears, I didn't turn away from God; I kept reaching for my Bible, and He helped me find my way through it all. And He still does.

Maybe God was busy?

Maybe God is busy with you ?

Mankind was created in Paradise, knew only good.

But then (by temptation from the devil) they got obsessed with evil, they (like God) wanted (actually insisted) to experience evil as well against the will of God. Know your Bible you criticize and check the story in Genesis chapter 2 and 3.

And as you can see God gave human kind what they wanted, insisted. The good Lord moved them from Paradise (a heavenly realm) on this earth perfect for what mankind desired, and we all learn the difference between good and evil very quickly by experience, some even at early age. You know, we are the only species (out of millions) who have a conscience, who can reason, who develop morals, and so we learn.

And God said, now that you have experienced the consequences listening the devil make a choice who you will serve, the evil one to your destruction or be restored and live in Paradise and experience only good, as God it initially created and meant to be.

In the hope you can understand this.

Tell you a story, years ago a Dutch celebrity (yes we have them here also) who was openly gay and lived a sinful life, not only by practicing homosexuality but speaking evil things, gossiping his collogues. And he was invited on a Christian television broadcast (the only one we have here) and he was confronted with the Gospel by a Christian artist only working with sand in beautiful ways. And the guy was deeply impressed and moved to tears. And I thought, wow God touched him deeply in his feelings and I hoped and expected he would repent from his sinful ways and turned to God. And he did not.... continued his sinful live.

I mean, how many chances must one get in this life ?

"He will resurrect us to eternal life"

How? Billions of people have lived and died since the time of Jesus... What's he going to do? Click his fingers?
Jesus' reply to the "Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection)" (Matthew 22:23) was, Matthew 22:29 WEB:

(29) But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

Is there a supercomputer in heaven (next to the golden throne) with the thoughts of billions of people stored?

Flippant fleeting thoughts, are they stored?
God doesn't need a computer! 1 Chronicles 28:9 UASV:

(9) "And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing soul {mind}, for Jehovah searches all hearts and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

Matthew 6:8 WEB
(8) Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him.

Jeremiah 1:5 WEB
(5) “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.

Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB
(8) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh.
(9) “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

are you saying that a God that created the milky way would be the slightest bit interested in any of my thoughts?
Amplifying what RLT63 said in post #291, Matthew 10:29-31 WEB:

(29) “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,
(30) but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
(31) Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

Maybe God was busy?
Jesus died, crucified on a cross. Was God busy then? God knows what is best for each of us. In the case of Jesus - Philippians 2:8-11 WEB:

(8) And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
(9) Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
(10) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
(11) and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelation 5:12 WEB
(12) saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

Jesus sacrificed his human life for us, and we are to follow in his footsteps. God is the best judge to know when it is the best time for each of us to die. God is working on His plan for our eternity of life, and we can trust Him. Romans 8:28 WEB:

(28) We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV:
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Romans 12:1 WEB
(1) Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

1 Peter 2:19-24 WEB:
(19) For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
(20) For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
(21) For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
(22) who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
(23) Who, when he was cursed, didn’t curse back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
(24) He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

James 1:5-8
5eIf any of you lacks wisdom, flet him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and git will be given to him. 6hBut let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is ia double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Beware of conversations with atheists and agnostics that lead you to doubt
