In case the joke is lost, I highly recommend reading these passages along with much more independent Bible study. It's incredibly worrying how much stock people put in politically-charged sermons. My advice: As soon as the preacher infuses politics into the sermon, just walk away from it. All that preacher is doing is pouring gasoline on the culture war fire that is consuming entire nations in hopes the other side will burn alive.
