How do you let people know you’re a Christian?


1. Hopefully by my actions


2. Taxation is theft


3. Tell them you eat Chick-fil-A at least once a week


4. I tell them I'm a Christian


5. Talk? To people?

Perhaps I could always wear shirt and pants with the word "Christian" printed all over them; and then just in case that missed, I could also have tatoos of the word "Christian" placed on all exposed and unexposed skin. If those things did not catch their attention I guess I could tell them I have been resurrected from the dead.

You know I went through a phase where I always wore a Jesus t-shirt. I had my car painted with bible verses....and had a cross on my house with a verse on it. (Just in case anyone came near me and didn't realize I was a Christian) :)

I stopped doing that sort of thing when a car pulled up to me at a red light and the guy driving started blowing kisses at me (now I was used to people giving me the finger because of my verses on the side and rear of the car...but I had forgotten about them at that time). I drove away and the guy kept looking at me. I thought he was queer so I just looked straight ahead and tried ignoring him by slowing the car down to let him drive on ahead. He finally gave up and drove off...that's when I saw the verses on HIS car on the back! He was a brother trying to get my attention...but I mistook his gestures for another kind of thing. That's when I realized that God didn't need my help.

I went through a number of phases....street preaching...among them. But I found that it was just me trying too hard to be a light in the world.

It is better to seek the Lord and wait on Him...in order to be sent out by the Spirit. Even though I also did that...in my mind I thought God needed more help. :)

I never went through that type of a phase, but early on I did want people to know I was a Christian... that is a follower of Christ. My reasons were the wrong ones, but I really did not know that then. I was looking for my own glory instead of His. Even when I much later on began to understand this things did NOT immediately or instantaneously turn around. We need to be directed...

The Bible says how how we should be a testimony to our faith.

I have found that true. Catholics do not live like Baptists, Mormons do not live like Bible only Christians. Jehovah witnesses have a whole other testimony.

Atheists are hard to mistake.

So yes, for the born again their lives are the testimony.

You did not answer my question. Without a specific answer I am uncertain as to your meaning. With an answer I may still be uncertain.

I might come up with a definition of a "follower of Jesus" but to me it is a very big jump from there to the conclusion that a "follower of Jesus" is a "biblical Christian". Probably most citizens of the United States would check the box on applications and forms confirming that they are "Christian", but how many really would or could base that answer on their own knowledge of what is written in the Bible [any language or version]?

Really, I hope my life shows Christ. I know I talk of Christ all the time to others, because it is just like I met my husband for the first time. I love Him and want to share that. But also how I live, I hope when people see me walking they see I am walking with Him, even through all my shortcomings.

A follower of Christ is one who follows his teaching relies on him for salvation.

As a oneness Pentecostal, you do not.

Why do you keep on dredging up history? I have not been a part of a oneness Pentecostal group since 1987 and even when I was active in such assemblies God was calling me out as in "come out of her". I was never ever stuck in the prescribed doctrines of the man-made organizations, there or elsewhere... not since I was a devout Catholic [ended in about 1961]. Instead of pointing to presumed connections try rather discussing the specifics of what I do believe and what I do, or try to do, with what God has given me?

No, rather I do not embrace the Trinity, a doctrine explained in many very different ways by different people and/or groups of people. To reject something is to deny the possibility. I have never rejected the Trinity nor called it an impossibility. I try not to ever flatly deny what I do not know. I embrace rather what God has shown me. What He has never shown me is Himself as a Trinity nor has He ever shown Himself to me as NOT a trinity. Since only God gives any real increase in the things of God... why should I go the way of the Trinitarians or the way on the Oneness people or any other way encouraged by any man or men?

I can tell you which way I lean, and when people ask me for specifics I may share what I believe, but I like the Oneness Jesus Only and like the Trinitarians do not know. Where should I put my faith, faith being the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen? You would make the Trinity doctrine a primary necessity, but no where in the scriptures can you or anyone else show me a verse which clearly states it as being such a necessity in order to move closer to God.

The Bible makes it clear one cannot have another God and be safe.

There's no way to make the God of the Bible acceptable to a but a Trinitarian.

Even in the Old Testament it was Trinity.
