God says IF we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all sin.
You continue to cherry pick the scriptures. You can't take one and base doctrine on it alone while ignoring the rest on the subject, but rather you must look at all the pertinent scriptures on any given subject and take them all into consideration so as to arrive at the proper abd intended conclusion. There are 4 gospels: do we take what's written in only one and ignore the other three, or are they all, being a bit different, to be considered? Absolutely we must read all 4 gospels, combine their contents, and only then after doing so, do you have the entire picture.

Again! If it were baptism that saves us then there would be no need for Jesus to give His blood and life on that Roman cross. think!!!

So you admit you do not accept the whole counsel of God and have decided He lied in Acts 2:38, and Mark 16:16 clueless-scratching.gif

Have you been baptized?

He is not understanding how the blood of Christ is contacted which is by baptism. Romans 6:4-5 tells you that. We're baptized into his death; it was by his death that his blood was shed, and baptism is how we make the connection to the blood of Christ.

4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

I'm not saying one must first repent, believe, and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

After that, the Lord instructs us to be baptized which is a public demonstration and public acknowledgement before others that we are dead with Him and are raised up together unto new life.... it's like making a covenant with the Lord when we are baptized, making a commitment, making a promise to turn from our old life unto living for Him.

Well, baptism has nothing whatsoever to do with "public acknowledgement before orhers" and there are no scriptures to state, suggest, or even infer that is the reason. Look at the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. Who was there? Just him and his baptizer, Philip in the middle of nowhere. Baptism as a public demonstration of belief or faith is man made up nonsense, unsupported by scripture. The Ethiopian eunuch is a good example of a conversion. What you see is that he's preached Christ whom he didn't know before, he believed, he confessed his belief, and was immediately immersed (baptized). How did he know about the NEED to be baptized? It's obvious when you read the account, that baptism must have been part of Philip's preaching of the gospel to him. I suggest you and others read the account carefully.

Have you been baptized?
In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.

*Also compare the fact that these Gentiles in Acts 10:45 received the gift of the Holy Spirit (compare with Acts 2:38 - the gift of the Holy Spirit) and this was BEFORE water baptism. (Acts 10:47)

In Acts 10:43 we read ..whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. Again, these Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47. This is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.

*So, the only logical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18). *Perfect Harmony*

Mark 16:16 - He who believes and is baptized will be saved (general cases without making a qualification for the unusual case of someone who believes but is not baptized) but he who does not believe will be condemned.

The omission of baptized with "does not believe" shows that Jesus does not make baptism absolutely necessary for salvation. Condemnation rests on unbelief and not on a lack of baptism. *NOWHERE does the Bible say, "baptized or condemned."

If water baptism is absolutely required for salvation, then we would expect Jesus to mention it in the following verses. (3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26) Yet what is the 1 requirement that Jesus mentions 9 different times in each of these complete statements *BELIEVES. *What happened to baptism? *Hermeneutics.

John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

If water baptism was absolutely required for salvation, then God would not make so many statements in which He promises eternal life/salvation to those who simply believe/place faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. (Luke 7:50; Luke 8:12; John 1:12; 3:15,16,18,36; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26; Acts 10:43; 13:39; 15:7-9; 16:31; Romans 1:16; 3:24-28; 4:5-6; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8,9; Philippians 3:9 1 John 5:13 etc..).

It does to those that something about baptism agree.gif

Yeah, I hear lots of folks claim Jesus lied when He said . . . He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved (Mark 16:16)

And many cl;aim Peter was not being led by the Holy Ghost when he said "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38)

Do you believe Peter was listening to devils when he said

Acts 2:37.38

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Do you believe Jesus was listening to devils when he said

Mark 16:16

He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Do you believe Peter was listening to devils when he said

1 Peter 3:21

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Do you believe Paul was listening to devils when he said

Colossians 2:11-13

In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Do you believe Paul was listening to devils when he said

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Yes! It's very clear that baptism is prior to salvation. Without being baptized, you're absolutely not yet saved. Impossible to he saved prior to baptism.

Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13 GOD SAYS=

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him

believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
