I don't know, but the days have gone quickly. How long were you gone.?
I was gone maybe 6 yrs....on other forums.
I had made 700+ posts back then.2011
Wow! That was a long vacation, I've been through so much.
So how are you all doing.
I gave up smoking, and got caught up with some drunks, sold all my possessions to get closer to God, but found out that I couldn't do anything without a simple phone, found a new job, a home, and a Christian girlfriend, broke my foot, and walked around limping for two months, made some new friends, lost some bad friends, but all in all it was interesting all the way through.I've seen better days. How about yourself?

It can, accumulation of material possessions can give you a false sense of security.Just curious, what exactly made you want to sell your possessions? Would God truly care if you had everything or nothing at all? Would simply having worldly possessions somehow get in the way of your relationship with God?

That will be permanent, the things here are not permanent. I sold everything so I could see what I actually needed.Well, I can agree there, but only if you aren't putting God first and everything else second. If I'm selling something, its not to get closer to God. I don't see how having nice things can in of itself distance you from God. If this were really the case, then God wouldn't be promising the saints a residence the size of a mansion in a city made of gold. I don't know about you, but I sure as hell won't be selling my mansion.![]()

Things are simple now.
It all depends on what you need, everyone has different needs. You have a point there, well hell, to each his own. There is not a chance in hell that I'd ever sell my computer. Unless the holy spirit descends upon me telling me so, it just ain't happening.
Jesus, what ppl think the Bible says, lolIf this were really the case, then God wouldn't be promising the saints a residence the size of a mansion in a city made of gold.

you mean you couldn't do what you wanted, right.couldn't do anything without a simple phone
ha, imo you better be going and finding your nest in There, if you got any senseThat will be permanent, the things here are not permanent
so, a testimonial would be cool, if you are game.It all depends on what you need, everyone has different needs.
Yes, indeed.so, a testimonial would be cool, if you are game.
I wouldn't read into what I said too much, I don't really know what I'm doing.Breathoflife,
Thank you for your testimony! It reminds me of what God told Paul in..
1 Corinthians 7:32-35:
32 ...He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord.
33 But he that is married carenth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the world, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 And this I speak for your own profit, not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that you may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

1 Timothy 6:10-11
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
