Yes, and they did not understand what He mean't by the words, 'wist ye not that I must be about My Father's business' did they? Mary kept all these sayings in her heart, but she had no conception of what was ahead for her son, and like all Mothers, she sought his physical good, but had no knowledge of what God had in store for Him.
Consider Luke 2:47-51 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. [48] And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. [49] And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? [50] And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. [51] And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
Lexicon says: Luke 2:51 Lexicon: And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.
I’m not sure which is correct because they sound very different. Like to withhold a saying as in denial of it: or to cherish or treasure all these things in the heart.
But his mother kept all these saying in her heart. —sounds like “As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.”
Daniel 7:25-28 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. [28] Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. (but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.)
Luke 1:46-55 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. [48] For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. [49] For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. [50] And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. [51] He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. [52] He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. [53] He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. [54] He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; [55] As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
