Hi there,

So there is a simple observation to make here: if the Holy Spirit teaches and brings to remembrance, the Devil will refuse to remember or be taught. As a going concern, that will make things quite difficult for the unbeliever and even for the believer, to the extent that they are in the world and sympathetic to it. We must keep the Lord firmly in focus, and welcome the Holy Spirit, that He be able to cut off, the sin that we have received in the world. The Lord has new bodies for us to inherit, but we must remain willing. What will happen to the Devil, then? He himself will be cut off, to a state of perpetual unremembering and unreaching - knowing only to stir up trouble, for those that don't know precisely what they remember or for what. That is the Wisdom of the Bible, when it says "always have an answer ready" (letters from memory).

The power of God, is sharp memory and strong teaching. These are the things we need to be feeding on, not milk as we first were, but bread, as we begin to do the will of God, in number and not just in faith. We must be mindful that we do not belong in this world, that the way through it will come with contention (even if we trust the Holy Spirit). But as Jesus said "take heart, I have overcome the world" (gospels, from memory). The Devil can't steal memories, nor destroy teaching, if it is from God, but we must be aware that even with the promises of God, we are prone to be weak and lacking in commitment. Part of that is learning to trust, that we have the good life (70 years) ahead of us, lamenting our sin and committing our heart to saving at least one besides us, to the end of this life. If we can do these things, it will go well with our Witness.

What we really need to be doing, is claiming the sharp memory and strong teaching, and rebuking the Devil that he not entice us to give up on our dreams and our vision. He may be effective beyond this life, at keeping the faith together, but in this life, he is evil and to be resisted. We can be strong and helpful together in this, if we trust one another and bear up the standard, that the Son of Man has set (that all come to Him, let the reader note). It is not a childish thing, to set these priorities and hope in an example by them, for by them we are able to reach many, who are lost in this world - confused and blown about, but every glimmer of chance and change. The Love of God will revive us, in time to come, we should be leaning into that, we can trust that, whether we are one or many. That's how we keep our focus on mercy, the whole time our lives are becoming sacrifice.

Back to the point, that our guard be ready, if not up (for we don't know when the Devil is coming) it is important that we understand that the Devil does not want us to remember or be taught, that he himself is willing to go without godly memory or spiritual teaching, to make a point that his evil is more extreme, than faith is true. It is a sadness to God, that the Devil is like this, but not insomuch that He knew the Devil would reject whatever helper He sent, but kept out hope, that the message would get through to men. This is our calling! We must trust that the message will get through and that the power of God would abound, for the deliverance of all, but the one that sends beyond scripture (that scripture be more greatly fulfilled). There is no way to wait, for the end to come, without patience developing. This is our calling!

It is possible to become a barb, to the Devil - a barb being something he knows will cause him pain, if he comes against it, unthinkingly. That is the flipside of the mark of the anti-Christ, a mark does not provoke the Devil to avoid the one he makes prey, but the Holy Spirit's barb does. Just as the spur, keeps the horse riding ahead at speed, so the barb of the Holy Spirit, keeps the Devil from resting on what he thinks is prey. Barbs are not there for the children, but that the Devil know the territory he is approaching is not his. Hence we have in the faith, a barbed wire fence, that is territory that is the Lord's, for which breaking in and stealing is deterred where at all possible. When we sin, we are reminded that the barbs of the flesh are sharp, also, but only because we are given greater conviction in the Holy Spirit, than we had.

At the end of our lives, we will know whether we remembered or obeyed what we should, I just pray that these words or something would speak to you about the dangers of straying from the faith and allowing the Devil to tell you what you should remember and what you should learn.

God bless.
