John 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;

John 5:40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

John 5:43 "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

John 5:44 "How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

John 5:46 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.

John 5:47 “But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"


Not posting all of the passage but when the man is in torment and pleads Luke 16:27-31 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: [28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. [2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

1 Corinthians 15:11-21 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. how were (are)you persuaded?

How indeed? It was not by any event which everyone would call miracle. We were rather persuaded by the testimony of the lives of a family, who lived in the apartment house where we lived at the time. They did not enjoy all of the things, which my wife and I enjoyed in those days [such as drinking, movies & sports] but they really enjoyed life with love in the family in a home with no TV [years before the existence of Internet] and immersed in a whole lot of God.

A couple of years later when we in our "enjoyment" of life were falling toward the bottom, toward what would have been the final breakup of our marriage, we remembered that other family's "enjoyment" of "Life" and went to them for help. They guided us then toward the place where they were. We had already been persuaded, but now the Love of God was manifested in our home as well. Our marriage never did break up. Come June it will be 49 years with each other. This year it will be 47 years with God.
