I don't know why I am saying this, but maybe someone needs to hear it.
Jesus was a friend to publicans and sinners. It was the staunch religious folks he railed on. Publicans were tax collectors who had a rep of taking more money than taxes called for. Sinners were drunkards and prostitutes. The Bible says these were friends of Jesus!
It was the Pharesses and Sadduces (staunch observers of the law who had no compassion) that Jesus literally berated.
So please, take that into account. Understand that you have done nothing Jesus can't forgive or reverse.
His two top guys were someone who murdered Christians and one who denied he even knew him. That would be Paul and Peter.
So, if you have done something worse than murder or denying him in the past... You are special! But I don't think you have.
Just come out and say you are interested.
