I'm scared of Death. I can't sleep. It consumes my mind. I think about it until I fall asleep and as soon as I wake up. I don't want to be scared. I beleive in Jesus, I am Christian. I don't want to be scared. I don't even know what to say about it. I'm just scared. No one seems to understand. No one can sooth it. Please help me. I don't know what to do.
Thank you.

I went through something similar when I was young. It involved an all out nervous breakdown prior. After all was said an done I ended up with post traumatic stress. I'm not going to go into the details this time. But, I do understand exactly how you feel.

Firstly, I want to tell you that over time It will get better. Secondly, as cruel as it sounds, There's a good reason you're going through this. God has something in mind and that's why he's allowing it to happen. In time you'll be much stronger and have way more understanding about certain things than most people could ever hope to have.

After you go through all this, when you come out on the other side, you will be virtually fearless! Nothing anyone says or does will phase you. That will cause you to be stronger in your beliefs and more steadfast in your descisions.

Right now you're facing and dealing with your greatest fear. You're comming to grips with the idea that it's inevitable. Fight through it. Keep praying and don't stop praying about it. It can be frustrating and it will seem like God isn't listening, but He is!

Realize, that you have to trust God and know that he knows what he's doing.

You also may have a little case of OCD, that can compound certain things, such as your current frame of mind.

You have something that has happened that has caused you to be afraid.

If there is a person or possibly more than one person that did something to you first of all forgive them. Hard as that sounds.

Pray a prayer something like this.
Heavenly Father I purpose and I choose to forgive.... (the person that ... for what ever they did to you.) I release them and cancel their debt's to me. In the name of Jesus I cancel all of Satan's authority over me in this memory because it is forgiven. Holy Spirit heal my heart and tell me your truths on this situation and then listen.

Many times the Holy spirit will speak to you. It might be like a weight lifted. It might be a word or phrase that comes to your in your heart. It could be various other ways. If there are numerous people or numerous times that one or more people hurt you that caused you to have this fear.

If that seemed relevant to your situation then start to repent for the fear/fears.

Pray something close to this.

Heavenly Father please forgive me for this specific sin of fear of_______. I purpose and I choose to forgive myself for this sin of ________. IN the name of Jesus I cancel all of Satan's authority over me in this sin. I am forgiven. Holy spirit heal my heart and tell me your truth about this situation. Then listen. He will speak in the same way. If there are numerous fears pray it for each one.

If you use these two prayers and pray through your issues of sin and or unforgiveness it will set you free.

The prayers are not an incantation or don't have to be done exactly word for word. They are only training wheels to get you moving with some momentum and balance........

The do need to include either forgiveness or repentance which ever is applicable. They need to cancel Satan's authority over the situation. Then need for you to ask for healing for what ever and in most cases your broken heart and then they need for you to ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Doing this will bring more freedom than any counseling tool that I have ever seen and I do this many times daily some days with 4 or 5 people a day.

Hope it helps you. If I explained it in this brief explanation clearly enough I know it will.

Honey...do not be afraid. You are not alone! ...the word of God is fulfilling itself and we are witnesses to some of those things that were spoken of, regarding the days that we are living in.

When we become believers in Christ our life becomes his and it is determined by his will...not uncontrolled events, sudden natural occurrences or by random disasters.

Our days are numbered in his hands and we can feel secure knowing that he decides these things for us. Nothing happens without his knowledge or his abiding hand in it. Fear opposes faith, and faith says that we are to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. In all of our ways, acknowledge him and he will direct our paths. [Proverbs 3:5-6]

I love this Psalm, meditate on it because it brings....peace amidst the storms.

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God
[sup]1[/sup] He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
[sup]2[/sup] I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

[sup]3[/sup] Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
[sup]4[/sup] He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
[sup]5[/sup] You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
[sup]6[/sup] Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

[sup]7[/sup] A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
[sup]8[/sup] Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

[sup]9[/sup] Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
[sup]10[/sup] No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
[sup]11[/sup] For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
[sup]12[/sup] In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
[sup]13[/sup] You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

[sup]14[/sup] “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
[sup]15[/sup] He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
[sup]16[/sup] With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

One day, when the Lord wills, we will enter into the glory of his presence and abide there forever! Hallelujah!

Peace!

Only God can help you. He will comfort you if you spend enough time in His Word, the Bible. Churches cannot help you. Most are preaching unbelief and fear. God gave us MANY promises to help in ANY situation and deliver us from fear. But we MUST know what He promised.

Hebrews 13:6 (NKJV)
[sup]6 [/sup]So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Romans 8:31 (NKJV)
[sup]31 [/sup]What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Hebrews 2:14-15 (NKJV)
[sup]14 [/sup]Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, [sup]15 [/sup]and release those who through FEAR OF DEATH were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Satan is the author of fear.

Death is frightening! It is ok to be afraid of death - no one wants to die. The good news is that Christ has conquered death, however this fact is not always comforting. Sometimes, an exaggerated anxiety about death can be an invitation from God to participate more fully in your life - or make a meaningful change. It is important to take this feeling seriously, without letting it oppress you. Counseling might be helpful to help you sort out your priorities and perhaps, discover how God will be using you next! Know that you are not alone and pray and seek counsel.

Death isnt to be feared, Jesus defeated it and you have conqoured it.. Give all the fear to God, he is the almighty, he descides if someone lives or dies, not death.

So, what about death scares you?

propably the dying part the unknown remember death was not meant to be . it came because adam sinned .
so since we all have that old adam in us . we honestly dont want to have to face the dying part to be with Jesus .

I think most of us would rather just have history end and Jesus come while we are alive.
or be like enock and just walk with God which would leave out the dying part that may or may not be painful as well .

But then even if Jesus came today i think many of us would have heartattacks and die anyway just do to his his majesty and holyness.. :)
its just amazing grace that he just has not given up on us sinful creatures.

Death is nothing to fear if God is in it. If your truly saved, then "death" is simply a passing from this world unto the world to come. Have Faith & Be of Good Cheer! Remember Psalm 23 v.1-4 ?

[sup]1[/sup]The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
[sup]2[/sup]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
[sup]3[/sup]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
[sup]4[/sup]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

It's something we can't avoid as humans, so it is best just to prepare for it. :)

I used to worrya bout dying suddenly with sins on me and going straight to Hell, but when i read up on purgatory and found that it can be supported by scripture I came to udnerstand that even if I dided with sins on me I could be purified after death in order to enter Heaven. As I am a believer I trust in Jesus to save me from the fires of Hell.

One thing I am afraid of is dying alone and being eaten by eaten by my dog and not being discovered until the neighbours complain about the smell. That scares me a lot, even though it can't affect where my soul will go.

However, I am scared of being cremated and not having a body to be resurrected even more than I am afraid of just being a pile of dog-nawed bones lying on an apartment floor.
