I saw this topic and had to respond.

I had a similar experience when I was driving deliveries for a living.

I fell on a patch of ice while loading my vehicle one morning.
I landed hard on my right wrist when my feet came out from under me suddenly.
It hurt immediately, but I shook it off and went to work.

The pain became unbearable in my wrist, but I continued to work.
I was basically driving with one hand. When I reached the far limits of my route I
needed to make a decision. Call for help or continue. It didn't make sense to call for help.
By the time I got back I would have finished my route anyway.

So I finished my route and went to the ER instead of returning to work.
I called my supervisor from the ER waiting room.

My boss was so impressed with the effort that he gave me a bonus.

I returned to work the next day with a splint on my wrist. It took months to recover.

Since it happened on the job, I hope you applied for Worker's Compensation which businesses are required to have. They would pay your medical bills. Also, they have to let you have time off to recover while you are also paid.

Unfortunately, that part was a mess. I was working as an independent contractor. (1099)
They did help me, but it was out-of-pocket. I took no time off, but they lightened my load while I recovered.
Getting the splint off my wrist helped a lot. I worked better with a hand brace.
Eventually I only needed a brace when I slept. (at night) - LOL

We changed my status to employee so that it wouldn't happen again.
