Integrity is a rare virtue; it is the willingness to endure the profound discomfort of severe doubt about one's spiritual beliefs when one's reason and intuition, and life experience clash with a system that binds one to one's spiritual community and gives coherence and peace to one's sense of the meaning of life.

Nope.....under the Law , yes......in this present Age Of Grace , If you are a Believer in Jesus , your sins are “ Already” forgiven .....actually, it’s better than that— God has FORGOTTEN them....
Understanding how God feels and when he feels it.....and understanding how you feel and when you feel it, in my view is important to understand, otherwise one jumps around the theological landscape of Law and Grace like it's a chessboard player trying to get one better on the other guy!

It appeared to me that you were bragging about your low- level libido ....I am so accustomed to seeing self- righteous Posts in these Forums I may have “ jumped the gun” on yours......A problem I have that I must confess to, is that once I take a glance at those types of posts and think that I see where they are headed.....my eyes just kinda “ glaze over” and I don’t read them as carefully as I should.....and for that you have my sincerest apology.....

With This recent posting of yours , I tried not to make the same mistake......anybody that goes out of their way to quote Ephesians 2:8-9 is my Brother ( or Sister) ......you are correct.....I WAS “Presumptuous” and I hope you will forgive me....At the risk of once again being “ presumptuous” I have a sneaking suspicion that you will readily forgive me .....I know how your mind works....we are both Christians....you proved it in your post...

It’s nice to make your acquaintance .....it’s a shame that my stupidity got us off to a poor start....What did “ Dear Abbey “ used to say? ——“Thirty lashes with a wet noodle” —— Lol......Flail Away! God bless...

Not to worry brother, of course I do forgive you.
And yes, for sure there are many self-righteous folks on here :(
I've not a thing to brag about, God did totally change my outlook on illicit sex many years ago, many. As I thought that would be the hardest thing to walk away from, it turned out to be the easiest and THEN is when He continually show's me the "hidden sins", ones I did not even think were sin! Yikes!

I jump on folks sometimes too, and know I should read slower.
Be sure brother, I HATE sin, all of it and hope to be prepared as a bride adorned in white, trimming my wicks, collecting my extra oil :)

Nice to make your acquaintance too, and no noodle lashes! haha.

Thank you B.B., It's all good
God bless and keep you always.

If you will allow me to add to your typically excellent and insightful post,I would add this little tid- bit that always seems to be overlooked.....

The question is posed—- “ I’m Saved, what do I do NOW?”......in other words , How are we to Live once we get Saved......Paul tells us how to live — “ The Righteous shall * LIVE * by FAITH !” We Finish our Christian Walk the same Way that we started it —- FAITH! Faith is acting on a Promise Of God.....Start viewing The Bible as NOT just a Book Of Commands—- look at it also as a Book Of Promises ! Hundreds of them that are the answer to every problem and challenge you will ever face in your Christian Walk......

Concentrate more on developing your ” Faith Muscles” and put your “ don’t do this and do do that” list on the back burner for awhile....The Faith That really impresses God is the kind that shows Courage ( think David vs Goliath) .....find the Promises Of God and have the Courage and Faith to stick your neck out when trouble comes—- Trusting God to be true to His Word when circumstances seem to indicate that you are in trouble and there is just “ NO WAY” to be rescued ......hanging onto a Promise Of God with just a fingernail grip if that is all that you can muster.....

David did things that were beyond despicable , yet God claimed that David was “ A man after His own Heart” ......God loved David and it sure as heck wasn’t because of David's goodness”......it was because of his Courage—— a Courage backed by the surety that God would keep His Word ....

Sooner or later , it is extremely likely that God will be testing “your” Faith—- your courage based on whether or not you Trust Him.....Here’s a test that every person that “ claims” to be a Believer must pass—— When it comes to your Salvation, do you trust in your Performance—- you “making yourself” Worthy by your supposed improved Morality , or do you have the Faith and the Courage to take your Eternal Destiny and place it ENTIRELY in the hands of Jesus? His Shed Blood Plus NOTHING ! That takes Faith and that takes Courage, because if God does not keep His Word ....you are Doomed.I Believe that Jesus died for my Sins and rose from the grave....Not Adding to that with something that * I* do takes Faith.....it takes Courage ......God says that by simply Believing that Gospel and never Adding to it with my works ( just for the sake of a little “ insurance” ) is the Way to get Saved .....it takes Faith and Courage to reject that “Insurance”—— it could mean the difference between Heaven and Hell......”The man that finds LIFE will find it by Trusting God” ....God Bless
Jesus + nothing = salvation.

Folks put way too many ingredients into our simple salvation through Christ. And we KNOW He is not the author of confusion, Amen!

As I have said many times—- “anybody out there wanna get Saved?” .... just Ask! Yeah, it’s that simple .....”Anybody that * ASKS* to be Saved WILL BE Saved”.......

Notice what it does NOT say.....it does not say that you “ might” be Saved.....it does not say that you have a “chance” to be Saved....

Seems that the Starting Point Of Christianity is seeing that you are a Sinner That needs a Savior.... That is what the Bible calls “The Conviction Of Sin” .....If that “Conviction” leads to a TURNING to GOD , (which is the only type of “ Repentance” that God requires for Salvation ) and putting your Total Trust in The Shed Blood Of Jesus Plus NOTHING to Save you .....You are Sealed by the Holy Spirit , your sins are not only Forgiven , but Forgotten , and with the very Righteous of Christ IMPUTED to you.......you are “ MADE” Worthy Of Eternal Life......

ah well it was Jesus that spoke the Quote, after all

The Jesus that said that one has to “ Forgive to be Forgiven” is also the “ Same” Jesus that told Paul to write “ Forgive others just as you, in Christ have BEEN FORGIVEN” ......

There is no Contradiction here.... It’s just part of the “ New and Better” Plan that God came up with....why did that happen? God “ found fault” with the Old Covenant and this side of The Cross—-because of what the Shed Blood accomplished—- He started the Church Age which is not Under Law But Under Grace...These are Mysteries never revealed to the apostles who were under Law and preached The Law —— just like Jesus did....The Cross changed everything.....I suggest you familiarize yourself with the New Program—- paid for by Jesus and put into place by God ....explained by Paul....

the mysteries weren’t revealed to the apostles? are you sure?v

Jesus preached the law?

This is not the best explanation that I tried to find, but it will do....

This mystery . . . which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Which we preach, whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching men in all wisdom; that we may present every man teleios –

that you might be initiated into the great secrets of God.[Colossians 1:27-29]

It’s a crime, I tell you, for God’s people to live all of their lives and know nothing about the great mysteries and revelations and teachings of God! After they’ve been Christians forty years, don’t know any more about God, don’t know any more about the church, don’t know any more about the Bible than they did when they began. Paul says his task is “to teach the people the wisdom of God that we may present eyyvery man teleios before the Lord” [Colossians 1:29] – that you might know the great secrets and the great revelations and the great meanings of the Word of God.

Now, when your religion stops at John 3:16 – we stand up, quote John 3:16, and that’s all we know about it. We learned John 3:16 when we were children, and after forty years, that’s still all we know! Paul says that’s not it, that’s not it. These initiations into the great mysteries of God, we are to know them. We are to love them. We ought to understand them. We ought to enter into them.

I think one of the greatest manifestations of the favor of God upon us is the attendance here at these 8:30 services where we’re trying to learn the mysteries of the Lord, the great secrets of the Almighty that He’s revealed here in the Book. And ninety-nine out of a hundred never understand, never know, never try. They have no hungering or thirsting after them.

We ought to grow in knowledge, in spiritual discernment, not being fed with milk as babes all our lives, but ready to eat strong meat [1 Corinthians 3:1-2]. Go out in the deep with the Lord. Get out there! The Lord likes it!

Simon Peter said, “Lord, if it’s You, let me come – let me walk on the water!” And Jesus said, “Fine! I like a faith that will get over the board of the ship and walk on the water” [Matthew 14:28-29].

Well that’s – I’m just tellin’ you what Paul says, that’s all. “This mystery, whom we preach, warning and teaching in all wisdom; that we may present everyone teleios in Christ Jesus” [Colossians 1:28] – fully initiated into all of the great truths of the Son of God.

Now, I haven’t time to expatiate upon this mystery – this mystery I’d call the mystery of the new birth, the mystery Christ dwelling in you, the mystery of being born again, the mystery of how we get to be a member of the household of faith and a member of the body of Christ.

Oh, Nicodemus, when he heard Jesus talk about that mystery, Nicodemus said, “How could such a thing be?” [John 3:9]. And Jesus said, “Art thou a master in Israel, art thou” – the Greek is ho didaskalos, the teacher in Israel – “and you do not know these things? You are not initiated into these wisdoms?” [John 3:10] The mystery of Christ in us: regeneration [Titus 3:5], born again [John 3:3-8], members of the household of faith [Ephesians 2:8-9].

All right, the third mystery: the third mystery is the mystery of the church – Ephesians 3:1-10. And I will take no further time on that because the last two services, I have spoken on that passage. The mystery of the church – Ephesians [3:]1-10:

How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery . . .

Whereby, when ye read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ

Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, but is now revealed unto His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. [Ephesians 3:3-5]

Namely, that the Gentiles and the Jews were to be together in a church, an organism called the church [Ephesians 3:6] – a thing that was hid from the old prophets and the old seers. And they never saw it this long distance of time between the sufferings of Christ and the glory of Christ and the dispensation of grace in between – what we call the church age.

That was a mystery. It was something they didn’t see [Ephesians 3:5]. It was hidden in the heart and counsels of God until time came for it to be revealed. That’s the third mystery, the mystery of the church: that Jew and Gentile should be together in one great body called the church [Ephesians 3:6].

All right, the fourth mystery – – and I hastily go over this one. I’ve spoken of it before. The fourth mystery is the mystery of the blindness of Israel, and that is discussed in the eleventh chapter of the Book of Romans. And I read just a verse: 25 and 26. Romans 11:25-26 – the mystery of the blindness of Israel.

Listen to Paul. That’s the fourth mystery:

I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.

But when that day comes, when that day comes, all Israel shall be saved. [from Romans 11:25-26]

“I show you a mystery.” That is, this is something you’d never know. It’s a secret hid in God you’d never find out. It’s a revelation of God –

Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep –

we’re not all going to die –

but we shall all be changed –

transfigured, translated –

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. [1 Corinthians 15:50-52]

Why, you could think and think and think and read Socrates and Plato and Aristophanes and Euripides and Marcos Aurelius and Schopenhauer five hundred million thousand years and you’d never know that. It’s a mystery. That is, it’s something that God had to reveal to us – this rapture, this translation of the church. It’s something God tells us, hid in His heart. That’s the fifth mystery.

Let’s go to the sixth one real quick. The sixth mystery is the revelation of the antichrist – the mystery of iniquity. In the second chapter of the second Thessalonian letter, Second Thessalonians 2:1-9, that’s the sixth mystery:

Now the last one, real quick like. The seventh mystery is the mystery of the bride of Christ – the bride of Christ, the church – the bride of Christ. Now that’s in Ephesians 5:22-32. Ephesians 5, verse 22 to 32: “Wives,” then he speaks of the wife and her husband, “As the husband is the head of the wife, so Christ is the head of the church. Husbands, as Christ loved the church, gave Himself for it” [from Ephesians 5:22-25] and so on

Jesus preached the law?

It would be great for the confused , self-Righteous people out there if Jesus had just preached the Law and left it at that...you know the type—- they think that they can “ keep the Law” and thereby “ Earn” their way to Heaven? Those misguided souls existed in the time of Jesus and in the Sermon on the Mound, Jesus showed those deluded people the TRUE Standard Of The Law.....it went like this—-

Do you think you are “ hot stuff” because you obeyed the Commandment, “Thou shalt not commit Adultery?” That’s a fine thing, but Jesus said , “ I have added to that Law” .....Jesus revealed that if you even have a Lustful Thought, you are as guilty as the man that commits Adultery....

The point of the Law was to show that you can’t keep it and you need a Savior to Save you....Many people then , and many people now , need somebody to burst their self - righteous balloons....Jesus was a Jew that lived under the Law and preached the Law —- on steroids!

As a man who like Jimmy Carter “ lusts in his heart” on a daily basis, I sure am glad that I live in this “present dispensation Of Grace”........The Amazing Grace that covers my sins and “Imputes” me with the Righteousness Of Christ ......all because The Law did it’s intended job in my life and “ took me by the hand” and lead me to Christ......if you are wise and see your Vast need for the Grace that can save you, all you have to do is Rest in the Gospel Of Pure Grace —- Paul’s Gospel, Given to Him by Jesus .....find it in 1Cor15:1-4 .....God Bless......
