What is the likelihood of the religious jews blowing up the al aqsa mosque and blaming it on Iranian missile strikes.
Or Iran deliberately targeting the al aqsa mosque to make way for the Jews to rebuild their temple with their Iranian Mahdi in mind.

Heard this recently on a podcast and it seemed interesting , what do you think?

Another fake temple of God is what Israel might build, since they do not know God, and do not obey the gospel.

  • 1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
  • 1 Corinthians 3:17
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, and ye are that temple.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19
What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you and which ye have from God, and that ye are not your own?

  • Acts 7:48
“However, the Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands, as saith the prophet:

  • Acts 17:24
God who made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of Heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.

Don't think a new temple is high on God's agenda at all. Why would it be?

I don't think so.

The removal of the dome of the rock and al aqsa mosque will likely be done by the Jews following the Gog/Magog event attack on Israel.

Yes, because the the Muslim religious structure from the temple mount obstructs the building of a Jewish temple, which when built the two witnesses will do their testimony of Jesus in Revelation 11.

I've been to the Wailing Wall and have prayed to God that He remove the Islamic affront to the location of the former Jewish Temple. However, Jesus abandoned all hope in that Temple when he called for the disintegration of Herod's Temple. If there is anywhere in Scripture that calls for the building of another Temple of the Law of Moses, I don't know about it?

Since the Apostle John was there when Jesus delivered his Olivet Discourse he also knew that the Temple would be destroyed, and likely wrote the Revelation after that prophecy had been fulfilled. But in ch. 11 John did not describe a rebuilding of the Temple, nor just a building of a Temple. This is the way it was described for the Tabernacle, for Solomon's Temple, and for the rebuilding of the Temple after the Babylonian Captivity.

No such description is offered in Rev 11. On the contrary, as in so many of the visions it is just assumed that we're dealing in apocalyptic imagery, part of the heavenly visions that began when John was called up to the throneroom of God.

Instead, John is called upon to measure this building, indicating not that it was a concrete reality, but rather, a symbol of true worshipers in the last days. It was not Temple worship under the Law, but like the Law a picture of those who truly had faith that God would be in their midst, forgiving their sin, and granting them Eternal Life.

This is the picture I get. I do understand your perspective, and you're welcome to it. I just think looking at the Temple as a symbol of the Law is a big mistake, and contrary to NT Theology.

Yes, there is...

2 Thessalonians 2:4:

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

It is the Jews of Judaism who desire that another temple be built on the temple mount. They expect their messiah (someone other than Jesus who they currently reject) to be a part of the rebuild.

The Daniel 12:11 when the end times abomination of desolation will be set up - before then the daily sacrifice (the two lambs) will be stopped. So there has to be a temple in place for that to happen.

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Also, in Daniel 8:11-25, the time of the end transgression of desolation will involve stopping the daily sacrifice.

Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

Yes, I'm well aware that the Jews in Judaism want to rebuild the Temple--at least, perhaps it's the Orthodox who do? But this is of no concern to God, whose interest is in the Body of His Son, Jesus--the international Church.

Of course, we probably agree that God still plans on being faithful to Abraham by restoring the Jews to their land? I believe God has not revoked His promise to always restore Israel as a nation of God, despite the fact the Church largely gave up hope in this over the last 2000 years. But God never forgets--He just won't honor those who continue to reject His Son.

For this reason I don't pay any mind to what Jews in Judaism want to do. That isn't to be our interest. Our interest is in witnessing to the Jewish People and to all peoples on earth. The glory of the Lord will fill the earth. An unholy temple has nothing whatsoever to do with this, and should not be our concern, in my opinion. It's a distraction, as I see it.
The Daniel 12:11 when the end times abomination of desolation will be set up - before then the daily sacrifice (the two lambs) will be stopped. So there has to be a temple in place for that to happen.
That was part of the summary given to Daniel at the end of his book. Two things were told Daniel that were both future and of great concern with respect to the fulfillment of all prophecy for Israel. 1) The Antichrist will resist the Kingdom of the Son of Man for 3.5 years (Dan 7; 12.7). 2) Antiochus 4 will try to destroy Orthodox Judaism in its preparation for the 1st Coming of Messiah. This also would take place over a 3.5 year period, ending after 1290 days (Dan 12.11).

The prophecy of Antiochus 4 in Dan 8 and 11-12 were future to Daniel, but not eschatological, as we understand that word. Antiochus was a kind of type of the Antichrist, but he was *not* the Antichrist. You are conflating two different prophecies, though they do have things in common. My opinion only...

Antiochus IV ins not the little horn person in Daniel 8. Daniel 8:11-25 is time of the end.

Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

The word used for "temple" here is not used by Paul to refer to a literal temple whenever he uses it elsewhere.

I think it is possible for those looking for a literal fulfillment of "he as God sitteth in the temple of God" could miss the emergence of a religious leader from within the Christian world.

It could mean the jews rebuild what is commonly thought of as the temple of God, which it is not a real temple of God, look who sits there the devil!
Or it could mean this false christ, devilish demonic religious leader of the last day near the very end could sit in the minds of church people who think he is Christ returned.

29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that [i]it is near—at the doors!

Paul also taught the church to not be deceived that the Day of Christ had come, as that figure in 2 Thessalonians 2 has to first show up on the scene, and perform false signs and wonders to deceive all people, except for the elect. And after he appears, and is worshipped as god, only then does Christ return, so if you ever see such a thing, know that Christ's return is at the doors, like about to happen.

Jesus warned of this, and Paul builds on it in 2 Thessalonians 2, about the great apostasy of the end time.

Mark 13
20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

21 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the [g]elect. 23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

The Coming of the Son of Man

24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His [h]elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that [i]it is near—at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

This is a possibility. Somehow the Jews are able to rebuild the 3rd Temple. If its on the same spot as the Muslims 3rd most holy place, the Dome of the Rock. Or any place on the Temple mount then this is not allowed at present by the Muslims. In fact there is restrictions for Jews to even enter the area around the Dome.

But in reality it has always been a rediculous situation that the very people who have most right to that mount is the Jews. In a day and age where everyone is declaring rights this is an obvious denial and one that most do not even recognise.

I think that this will change. The tide is changing against Islamists. They are being exposed as evil and breaching human rights. I have heard that some Jews are now allowed into the inner parts of the court yard to pray. So there is a softening of the stance.

I don't think there will be a bomb on the mount. But something will happen. Perhaps a natural disaster. Perhaps the Mosque and Dome naturally collapse. Or perhaps the Islamist in being defeated in other nations and the collapse of their hold that they will compromise or be ejected completely from Jerusalem. Or the softening will continue and a compromise will be reached to share the mount.

We are seeing some pretty significant world order changes happening. Turning long held power dynamics on their head and forming new alliances. If there is a peace deal in the middle east this will be radical and may lead to doors opening.

It also makes sense in the current climate. There is a rise in nationalism generally and Isreal is no exception. In fact they still hold deep traditions and roots and it has been long held that they get back to the old traditions lost and re-establish the nation. Thus there is a rise in Jewish tradition which has been brought about by the current world political and cultural climate.

"I Think It's A Very Big Possibility"

Iran blowing up the Mosque would achieve many things, if it happened the Jews would move immediately to build the 3rd temple, then the entire Islamic world and their armies would turn against Israel, fulfilling future prophecy in my opinion

Luke 21:20KJV
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Or they will find out the Dome of the Rock is not the site of the 2nd temple. And the wailing wall is just part of the Roman Garrison of those days, which it is.

Jesus said not one stone of the 2nd temple will lay upon another, how could the wailing wall be part of the temple wall.

Any stones of the temple destroyed by Rome, would have been carved up and used to build other buildings.
It was a total destruction of the Jewish temple system, God was done with it.

There won’t be or even a need for a third temple we the church are the temple of God now.

It’s not even predicted in the bible

Antiochus IV ins not the little horn person in Daniel 8. Daniel 8:11-25 is time of the end.
Are you not aware, Doug, that there are different views about who the Little Horn in Dan 8 is? The view that he is Antiochus 4 is very well established in the history of the Church. You may not agree, but you shouldn't declare something as fact without acknowledging that your view is controversial in the light of historical interpretations of this passage.

Dan 8.8 The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.

The "goat" is often viewed as Alexander the Great, and the 4 prominent horns becoming the major divisions that Alexander's Empire broke up into. For Daniel's purposes, 2 of these horns figure more prominently, namely the Syrian and Egyptian portions of that Empire. Dan 11 speaks in great detail about the back and forth of these two powers, which impacted Israel on its immediate north and south sides.

9 Out of one of them came another horn, which started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land. 10 It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them. 11 It set itself up to be as great as the commander of the army of the Lord; it took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down. 12 Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.

The great figure, a "horn," ccoming out of one of these divisions, is therefore thought to be Antiochus 4, since he instituted the "Abomination of Desolation" at that time, grew in power in the South, ie in Egypt, and also displayed power in the East, ie in Persia. He also impacted the "Beautiful Land," which was Israel.

19 He said: “I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end. 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king. 22 The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.

You see, this was already identified as such. And if it related to ancient Greece, then we can safely interpret "later in the time of wrath" not as an eschatological end of time, but rather, as a later date in the development of this Empire.

23 “In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise.
Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
Again, you fail to acknowledge that the phrase "time of the end" has a context that can be interpreted as the end of an Empire, or the end of a reign of a particular dynasty. This is a very common interpretation among biblical scholars throughout history.

To just then declare your view as if an obvious fact does not do the history of Christian interpretation justice. Go ahead and state your views with conviction. But acknowledge that stating things dogmatically without acknowledging the broader Christian context is like making your views Gospel. And that is, in my view, very wrong.

Relying on man's reasoning can be full of traps. Better to stick with what God's Word says.

God's Word shows a 3rd stone Jewish temple must be standing in Jerusalem in order for the Daniel 11:31 and Matthew 24:15 "abomination of desolation" event to happen. It is also the main topic of warning by Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, and by John in Revelation 13:11 forward. And it is shown it will happen prior to Christ's future return.
