Eternal life
What else. he said alot of things
How about they would never hunger or thirst
they would live forever
they would never die
They would never be lost

And he would raise them on the last day. did he not make these promises also?

AND as often as you eat it do it in remembrance of me. Never did he say do it just once. Youre.floundering now
Sorry. these words were not spoken in John 6. Please keep to context.

The "words of eternal life" are, "Amen, amen I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life within you."

You don't like those words do you?
Oh I love those words

See. I believe Jesus when he said that. and I have eternal life

Your still eating because you do not believe you have yet arrived to an eternal life.

They relate to it just like when Paul says those who eat and drink without discerning the body to the Lord eat and drink judgment on themselves. You aren't arguing with me friend

You don't pay attention do you? John 6:52 the people ask , "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Jesus in response says, "Amen amen (in others stop being a putz and listen) I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you do not have life within you".

Now in order to believe he wasn't talking literally you have to be either illiterate or you just blatantly ignore what Jesus said.

The problem is that (as the walked away Jews) you take it literally.

The good news is that you did not walked away.

Thanks. I do believe I have a role to play. It's Titus 2:3-5. The older women should instruct the younger women on loving their husbands, children, and homes.

In debating salvation theology, I noticed that men mostly saw me as one to teach no matter what Scriptures I offered. I don't see this as necessarily a bad thing that men do. Scripture upholds men as the primary defense of the truth of the faith (1 Timothy 2:11-14). I found more value in teaching Titus 2 things rather than salvation doctrine.
You are right that Titus 2 is a precious calling, and teaching the younger women is so needed today. But don’t think that limits you only to that. God’s Spirit in you still makes you a witness of His truth in every way. Even if men often take the lead in defending doctrine, your encouragement, prayers, wisdom, and testimony carry real power. The women at the tomb preached the resurrection first, not with debate but with witness. That kind of sharing is never out of order and is deeply valuable in these times.

We have to remember that Paul was speaking for the times. It was a man’s world then, and women were not educated in the Scriptures the way men were. In those days, it would have been hard for women to debate with men in public, and sometimes it could cause disorder. That is why Paul said what he said, to keep peace in the gatherings of his day. But this was not meant to silence women forever, because God’s own word shows women as prophets, teachers, and witnesses. The truth is, from God’s side, both men and women are His servants, both receive His Spirit, and both are called to speak and live the truth. In any case I do respect your wishes.

Blessings sister Wynona.

Which is how he meant it.

No I stayed AND take Jesus at his word. I don't have to do mental gymnastics to try and explain away what Jesus was saying.

No I didn't say that I said Jesus said, "Amen amen I say to you unless you eat the flesh of man and drink his blood you do not have life within you." And Paul reiterated it, "For a person who eats and drinks without discerning the body of the Lord is eating and drinking judgment on themselves ". It's rather straight forward.

No they are not. I will ask you AGAIN if the Jews at the first passover had just eaten bread instead of a lamb would the angel of death have passed over them?
No.

Of course not. In Exodus God instructs the Jews how to prepare the lamb and EAT the lamb. "That night eat it's meat roasted. Eat it with unleavened bread and butter herbs."

Then the lamb of God tell us 3 times eat my flesh but people resist. Unbelievable. We can't make our own rules.and decide well I believe he will save us so I'll just rest bread because don't like lamb or whatever other reasons people can concoct. That's not how it works.

How many times should @LoveYeshua quote John 6:63 to you ?

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

The Exodus lamb was an animal.

He already told them

You do not see because you do not believe

What did Peter say when Jesus asked him.

68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Did he say you have the flesh that gives life. the bread that gives life?

He showed he understood.. The ones that left never got it
Why would YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE
cancel out YOU MUST EAT MY FLESH?

Jesus did not call back the disciples that were deserting Him due to this difficult teaching...
Jesus let them go.

I think, as I seem to remember, that this was important in my coming to understand that
Communion is not symbolic and neither is baptism.

It either has to be real...
or it's of no value.

Regarding those who left, I think the crux is :

John 6:65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

Referring to v44

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

All in the context of : He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him -- John 1:11

I do not want to tell people what to do but we should move away from this "eat my fleas and drink my blood" topic and stop to entertain @nedsk on this. We have all tried and proven several times that Jesus meaning is indeed spiritual and not literal but he will not listen. we should move forward instead. I propose we discuss another point essential to salvation that would also complement completing the opening post.

we could instead discuss Jesus's own words when he asks us that if we love him to keep his commandments, personally I know Jesus was talking of the Ten commandments as he explained to the rich young ruler;

Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler (Mat 19:16-22)

16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
17 So He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”
Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept [d]from my youth. What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Here it is clear that Jesus was speaking of the Ten commandments also defined as the Covenant By GOD.

I do believe this is one of the most important statements in the bible that leads the true believers to eternal life,

What do you all think?, lets discuss.

Relate?

Did Jesus promise this to everyone who ate or not?
just like when Paul says those who eat and drink without discerning the body to the Lord eat and drink judgment on themselves. You aren't arguing with me friend
Your right, I am arguing with a church who has you decieved.

You agree with the fleh. but once again, You deny everyone who eats will recieve.

Again, The last supper Jesus never promised anyone anything. He said do often so you can .. oh wait. in remembrance of me

Your not arguing with me

He doesn't say that anywhere. Those are your words. Not impressive
you make it too easy

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

.
39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead.
He who eats this bread will live forever.”

Like I said, Your not arguing with me.. You rejected that Jesus said these words.. here they are bolded And black and white.. You have no excuse now.

cancel out YOU MUST EAT MY FLESH?
I don;t

I have the words of eternal life AS THE FLESH.

It is the knowl;edge that Jesus would die that saves us. and our faith in that truth.. so Jesus is telling us to gnaw and chew on those words.
Jesus did not call back the disciples that were deserting Him due to this difficult teaching...
Jesus let them go.
Because they did not believe, why would he call them back. what more could he say to convince them that he has this food which endures forever?

Remember, they thought they needed fed physical food. they were their for miracles. they did not think they needed saved

I think, as I seem to remember, that this was important in my coming to understand that
Communion is not symbolic and neither is baptism.
Yeah we know. you want to earn your salvation by your works of righteousness.

Well as Paul told titus. It is not by works of righteousness which we have done (like communion and water baptism) but by his mercy he saved us

You should chew on Jesus words some more..
It either has to be real...
or it's of no value.
Oh the words of eternal life are real.

And those uf us born of that understand it..
