Is your salvation a burden?

If I testify of myself, my testimony is invalid is not too hard to figure out I guess

the war is over wadr, even if you are still fighting, and you might confess your sins one to another to see why that is so. Try that yoke out and see! God does not even hear your confession I guess

so, we must labor to enter into God's rest I guess, sure, but the war is over, the battle is won already?

I have shared on other threads how I suffered so much condemnation after I got saved. One of the things that I cringe at in many threads is that if we continue in sin after salvation then we are not truly saved. This is how I used to believe and my salvation was such a burden on me that I never lived in the Joy of it but rather lived in constant fear of losing it.

Here are some questions that I sought the Lord on after being set free of condemnation....

1. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life....

2. Romans 10:6-11 6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

3.John 3:1-7. “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”

4. The Bible is clear that all people are God’s creation (Colossians 1:16), and that God loves the entire world (John 3:16), but only those who are born again are children of God (John 1:12; 11:52; Romans 8:16; 1 John 3:1-10).

There are more scriptures but here are my questions:
1. Believe on Him and you will not perish but have everlasting life.....this scripture does not say anything about confessing with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus is the Son of God....simply believe....so does this contradict the Romans 6:9?
2. Confess with your mouth and believe with your heart.....So now this scripture you have to put action into your salvation.....why did it change?
3. Being born again.....if you are born how is it possible to become UNBORN?
4. Born again people become children of God......so that indicates He is no longer "God" but He is now "Father".....does a Father abandon His children when they sin or mess up?

Salvation is a gift to us and when we receive it into our lives it is suppose to set us free and to liberate us from the curse of sin and death.....why do people try to make it such a burden for others to bear? Jesus says to come to Him as we are....cast our burdens on Him....He will begin changing those things in our lives as our heart changes. Is it instantaneous? I haven't been able to grasp that we never STOP sinning....whether in thought, word or deed......I am constantly asking the Holy Spirit to reveal anything in my heart that is hindering my walk with Him....just last year I realized I had a spirit of religious pride.....Pride is a sin....I am still coming into the knowledge of unforgiveness towards someone from years past that I had forgotten about but the Holy Spirit revealed it to me....Unforgiveness is a sin....and there have been times when God told me to do this or not do that and I disobeyed....Disobedience is a sin.....(these are just a few) So what hope is there for anyone who is saved if they immediately have to have a perfect walk in righteousness without sin like Jesus did.

My conclusion is that we are born again of spirit but the flesh is still in its corruptive state and this is where we have to daily crucify the flesh for it wars against our spirit to fulfill it's lustful desires.....but it is a WAR not a picnic.....when I sin I am miserable and I cry out to my Father and ask for forgiveness and pray that He helps me in my weakness....and He is faithful to forgive me each and every time.

Does this make me an OSAS believer? Only to the point that the only way I am going to lose my salvation is to denounce Jesus as my Lord.

Our Father never intended for our Salvation to be a burden on us.....It is our hope, our peace and our joy to receive such a great gift.

meant for these to post in reverse order, anyway I dunno if "God does not hear the confession" is exactly right, but I'm pretty sure "don't imagine that confessing to God is correct" is?

And fwiw I note that Confession has been equated with Profession up there, also occurs in most English trannies too I guess.

And the world groans and travails in pain as it/we are experiencing the birthing pains preparing for new life. I completely understand your tiredness....ME TOO....Lord Come Quickly....and if not the renew our strength as in the days of youth and give us a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit.!

funny, this "groaning" passage came to me last night. We read it as a statement of fact rather than a rebuke I guess, huh. Wish I could find the snip about "those who say 'come quickly,'" but I let it get away from me...

I know it seems faithful to say that, "Come Quickly," but wadr this needs to go with "fighting Satan" or "spiritual war," and "confessing sin to God" imo.

The premise is to understand that once a person gets saved he/she will still fail to walk a perfect walk without sin as Jesus did yet there are so many who are taught that if they sin then they are backslidden and have lost their salvation or were never truly saved.
Now in keeping His commandments (The 10 Commandments) those sins should no longer have place in our heart. But there are many other sins whether in thought...word...or deed that we commit....example unforgiveness, disobedience, pride.....

So no offense but I get suspicious when I hear professors tripping over how light their cross is to bear. Now this might easily be unfair, I dunno, but I would want to hear further testimony of this one's having given up everything and completely walked away from their old life after baptism, which no offense but I guess this will get as much attention as the Isaiah Scripture huh

There just is no way i know of to make Death More Abundantly and life more abundantly into the same thing without these denials of essential truth, and my evidence right now is that no one will even address the "truth" Quoted from Scripture, which may not be truth at all, I might be wrong, maybe I am the one on tares here, etc?

The issue of "getting better and better" mentioned earlier is a paradox. While it cannot be denied that we must grow and become more mature, we bear more and more fruit...we become more and more Christlike,...the measure of that we need to leave in God's hands, because while I can look back on my life and say, ha! Great! I have got rid of that and shed that...I may tend to get proud about "my" accomplishments, all along any improvement is to the glory of God. So while it may be true that we "get better", the paradox comes into effect when I compare myself with Christ. The closer I come to Him, the more I recognise His holiness, the more I recognise that the distance between us seems to be increasing. How does that work? Some kind of spiritual quantum physics? All we can really do is thank Him for His promises.

Well still the main point is to understand that His Mercy and Grace is new everyday and that as a Father who teaches His children how to walk in His righteousness He also understands the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Overcoming our flesh is what we battle with daily.

I get where you are coming from, ya. We do a lot of battle when we are younger I guess, mostly bc we are so focused on sin I think

But my friend as you know many people including some testifying that they have been born again appear to love death, at least according to what I am able to see. Someone quoted this verse recently on another thread and it certainly applies here:

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." I John 2:15

Whether we are speaking of all those on planet Earth or simply the little world of "me, myself and I" this misplaced love, this love first for something other than God amounts to this Death more abundantly of which you speak, does it not? People, supposedly believers and followers of God, speak of another place after this present time for God and them while in this place and this time they work for those things they love here and now while so often they do not really include Him as being a part or even all of what should be here and now.

Not really a paradox but rather a better vision of that which is greater than we can even imagine. As we really approach Him we see more clearly the gap that lies between what are in spite of our increases and what He is. The gap when seen by better eyes is still absolutely too great for us to pass over to the other side... alone!
