I'd like an explanation to this mystery of knowing God outside our sensory based flesh bodies. Because this very analogous situation of knowing God beyond sight and sound (and emotions) didn't resolve my doubt how sure I was about God. How can I be sure about what God is real without some sense perception? Like, how can I feel God's presence If I have no feelings. Who's emotional senses am I using to know that I can feel God's presence without using my emotional sense to sense God's presence? Does God's emotional presence replace my emotional senses so I'll know it is God?
After sincere repentance many people feel presence of God. They feel His love and forgiveness. I will explain to you in a different way than to Christians. I already posted something similar here. As God created the world, and established care and guidance for His creation. Particles exist through laws of physics, simple organisms guided by reflexes, animals by instincts - no need for understanding the whole picture, just automatic response. For humans God designed more then that - ability to understand. But we are still perceiving the world as animals. For example, we have a sexual desires, and the whole division onto males and females exists solely for reproduction purposes. From the point of view of unreasonable animal the sexual satisfaction is the goal. Same for people. But our instincts don't understand anything. Individual can trick them by masturbation. Instinct satisfied, but the goal is unfulfilled. If we are following unreasonable instincts and think sutisfuction of our feelings and desires is the goal, then we are slaves of unreasonable instincts. For animals it is good. So, there is something we (not everyone) have inside - the true guidance for humans. This is what people are getting from God - the Holy Spirit. You can start hearing his voice only if you shouted down voice of instincts. Voice of the Spirit quiet and meek (Jesus mentioned God's yoke as gentle). And God tried to explain it to people throughout history. Jewish Temple is the image of a human. High priest - is only person who could come inside the holy of holy, and only after sacrificing lamb. Lamb - is an image of meek person during repentance. The high priest is the image of a person alined with the Holy Spirit. Translation - when we start feeling the presence of God, we need to start denying ourselves, including feelings and start to be aware of the Holy Spirit. For us the Holy Spirit is God, but when you start to obey the Holy Spirit and align yourself, kinda observing the world through him we syart to realize that the Holy Spirit is the Reason and he becomes you. We are something between flesh and Spirit. Agency with free will. If we alined with flesh we are intelectual animals, when we choose to be alined with Spirit - we are Reasonable children of God. By the way. More you become alined with The Holy Spirit (Holy Reason), more you become aware of Reality and understanding truth, but not feel. Animals "understand through feelings ", we can understand through Reason (Spirit). If I see beautiful woman, I see human. I can sometimes sence reaction of my flesh (in the beginning of spiritual growth). But through the Holy Spirit I use reasoning and explain yourself - I'm not going to start reproduction with her, I have family and kids, so I don't need another one. Her poking out brest is a body organ designed for generate milk to feed babies and no sexual arousal coming to me. Everything is just common sense. But know. I tried be reasonable without God and repentance - impossible! I can use intellect and logic to see in some instances what is right, but have no power to live and act accordingly. We all need God and His help. the end.
