We have two great commandments to follow - love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:34-40). I'm pretty much saying the same thing, aren't I?
I disagree on both accounts.I doubt God gets lonely.
Sin doesn’t hurt God either.
“If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand? Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.” (Job 35:6-8)

Why would God have us love him with all our hearts, minds, and souls? No.
Where does ‘God being lonely’ and ‘hurting God with sin’ fit in to the passage???
I will start a new thread and pose the question: Does God have feelings? That's what this thread is about, but I'll make myself clearer.Even with the scripture I quoted?
Ookaay…
Don't you think it hurts God when we hurt other people?

Why don't you think we can hurt God?The spirit is grieved, but we cannot hurt God.
By the way, do you have any scripture to illuminate the discussion a little?
I know the Lord gets angry on numerous occasions. Wouldn't that suggest he has feelings? I can't prove scripturally that it's unwise to put my hand on a hot stove, but I'm not going to do it.The spirit is grieved, but we cannot hurt God.

You're not embracing a Biblical definition of sin, Bob. What does 1 John 3:4 say when YOU read it?We have two great commandments to follow - love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:34-40). I'm pretty much saying the same thing, aren't I?
A biblical definition of sin? God says don't commit adultery. If we commit adultery, we sin. God has several of those commandments. You're not embracing a Biblical definition of sin, Bob. What does 1 John 3:4 say when YOU read it?
Does it say that sin is the breaking of the two abbreviated Commandments? I'm betting there's not a Bible made that has that written in it.

I believe the Lord has feelings.Good point.
And God can be grieved.
“And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” (Genesis 6:6)
But hurting God or God getting lonely? There isn’t any biblical example of this.
