All that Jesus Christ is and all that Jesus Christ did was for us.
By his righteous sinless life he offers to God the Father a life of perfect obedience according to his Holy Law. He does this in our name and on our behalf, just like we did it ourselves.
It is this life that was lived for our justification, Romans 3:26.
That was not enough, something had to be done about our sins and the sins of the whole world. "For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" 2 Corinthians 5:21.
It was the obedient sinless life of Christ and the death of Christ that reconciled us and the whole world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus we can now say with Paul that we are "Complete in him" Colossians 2:10.
We can't make ourselves any better than what God has made us in Jesus Christ. In our name and on our behalf Jesus has taken that perfected life back to heaven. God now sees us in Jesus Christ, "For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God" Colossians 3:3. Our salvation is at the right hand of God in heaven, a very safe and secure place.
Even now, Jesus is mediating his righteousness in our name and on our behalf, Hebrews 7:26. The law says... "The soul that sins must die" Jesus took our death for us. The law demands perfection. Jesus has fulfilled the law for us. We can now stand before God's Holy Court as justified because of the doing and the dying of Jesus.
"Blotting out the handwriting of the ordinances (The law) that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" Colossians 2:14.
Now, we don't have to be good enough to be saved, Jesus was good enough for us, nor do we have to worry about being predestinated. In Jesus Christ we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, 1 Corinthians 1:30. God has done all that he can do to reconcile us and the world unto himself. Salvation is now offered to everyone as a free gift from God, Ephesians 2:8.
