always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. - 2 Corinthians 4:10.
Look at the manifestation of Christ in a Christian. What is the manifestation of Christ in you? It is Christ as life coming out of the mortal body. The new creation (the twain are one) has a different life than the life it was born with. Scripture calls it "born again." Born of the Spirit - in spirit - by Christ Spirit in you - joined to the believer spirit. We can call that "joined unto spirit life." You live by the only life you have which is a 'joined unto the Lord spirit life.' Union - oneness is in place for proper life living in this world. How do we live in this world and what life do we live?
If we were to take, Galatians 2:20 literal.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20.
It is the life of another in us that the believer lives by. It is the only life they have (old man dead - crucified in Christ). To live as the same old you is to live by the same knowledge you were born with. There is new knowledge that goes with the new creation!
