@MatthewG I haven't been over here in awhile, but I never remember you speaking like this. What happened? This sounds like a very discouraged person to me. I'm sure you know darn good and well why the apostles died. The things you are saying--You are being snotty. You start a thread and then bite everyone who answers you . The cannibal thing was a bit much too.
If I were an outsider, just reading threads, I'd swear you came off your meds recently and this is what is causing this. You weren't like this before.
concern means nothing to me anymore. everyone in on their own journey through this life. And having absolutely no suffering is not part of it.

Thanks for the concern, that means nothing.

Appericate ya either way.

i agree the guy is a bit odd, any reply that debunks his strange idea he responds with childish insults, ignores the evidence they present, then says he is putting them on ignore like its a triumph.

I don’t believe you. Agape love is Gods love.

It has nothing to do with humanitarianism…

God is spirit, he produces spiritual things within a person…
One of the books I read defined "Agape" love as when the well-being of the one who is Agape-loved is essential to the well-being of the one who loves. That well-being includes both the spiritual and the physical well-being.

Note that Jesus's miracles included mental and physical healings and providing loaves and fishes and even providing money (to wit, a fish with a coin in its mouth). The physical is important because it does point to the spiritual. And vice-versa: Spiritual issues are sometimes the result of what's happening on the physical side.

You talked about Agape-love. @Cassandra's concern for you IS a sign of Agape-love. Matthew, what's going on in your life?

something that just dawned on me, the non humanitarian idea, not caring about others and only taking care of yourself, this is the exact same theology of thelema, the religion of Aleister Crowley, do what you will. just thought that was interesting.

Not always. Sorry to say. Some people fake concern. Some people just want to gossip and belittle people. Some people don't care at all...

I do not even know you guys so why should I even be worried about it?

These questions don't mean anything.

Jesus was not a humanitarian...

If someone could love perfectly, they'd be Jesus. But I’m not, and neither are you. Only by abiding in Him can we even begin to love—because He is love, and we are not.

Humanitarianism doesn’t hold much weight for me. That might sound harsh, but it’s the truth. Does that make me evil? Does it mean I reject the resurrection of Jesus? If some people think so, fine. I’m not here to convince them. I’m just here—waiting. Existing. Until I’m not.

God’s work is this: to believe in the One He sent, and to love your neighbor as yourself. But loving doesn’t mean handing over everything to make someone else’s life comfortable. Following Christ involves suffering. If your version of humanitarianism is only about comfort, then you’re missing the point. The life of a believer isn’t easy—it’s marked by sacrifice, not ease.

So take that as you will.

What does it mean to "love your neighbor" if you don't give them food and clothing so they won't be hungry and naked??

Be warm, and well fed, but you do nothing to help?

I urge you to relook at this.

Much love!

To heck with humantarianism.

When you do good things to people you do them in secret.

You must have a very different idea of what it means to be humanitarian.

Here's wiki's description:

Humanitarianism is an ideology centered on the value of human life, whereby humans practice benevolent treatment and provide assistance to other humans to reduce suffering and improve the conditions of humanity for moral, altruistic, and emotional reasons.

This is pretty much the same thing Jesus taught. Do good for others. Take care of their needs. Don't just say you love others, show it in your care for them.

Much love!

I know those things already, but Jesus was no humanitarian. Jesus gave up his own life, and all the disicples went and die for him.

Get out of my face dude.

Jesus gave up His life for you. That's humanitarianism.

Bye!

That's not true. He would have remained alive, but I am thankful that Jesus did die, and Yahavah rose him again.

Thank you for moving on. Not so much love now huh? Lol... I can't stand humans sometimes.

The humility that comes from being honest is something to be hold. Drinking the blood and eating the flesh of Christ is something to be hold. Thinking that while yes we can have comfort that is all that comes with following Jesus Christ, is just not true. You’re gonna suffer, and you by nature are a sinful human being. The truth is can you be honest in such a way before your creator in order to have true freedom founded in the spirit and not what people say.
