The Branch From Jesse
11 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

So from this though did not do much study when it comes down to the stump of Jesse; could this be relating to the seed that would come eventually from the line of King David which would bring forth the coming Messiah; Jesus? (If you have any more information please share.)

Thinking today and seeing this scripture it came to me that Jesus though he was the Lord, and the Son of God, He was also a Branch for God to use as a vessel to bring forth the will of God which brought forth reconciling the world back unto God because of the payment for sin for all of mankind. (What a wonderful thing).

So Jesus was a servant for God; even as though being the Son of God (Also the Logos of God with-in the fleshly body of Jesus.) Jesus was a servant who came to do the will of the Father. (John 6:38).

Is that not interesting. Jesus had his own will, but he faithfully served his Father through out the earthly ministry up till the age of 33 which lead to the death on the Cross. Which lead to the disciples becoming down and sad afterwards that they some were just going to go back on fishing like they had use to before being called by Jesus.

Because of this notion of Jesus being the branch - for God to be able to use to reconcile the world back to himself. We also see Jesus explaining to the disciples in John 15 that they were the branches. In Jesus explaining to them that He was the vine, and his Father was the gardener.

Now realizing the bible doesn't explicitly state that Jesus a branch: Jesus had his own will; and his choice was to serve his Father. Just like us today have a choice to serve our Father, and our Lord Jesus, or not. Jesus goes on to explain to the disciples that without Him they could do nothing; they would not bear much fruit at all.

So you can see here what Jesus had done; and what He was capable of doing and it was also so for the disciples if they abiding in Jesus and what He had said to them in which they did; sometimes they doubted, and feared, and they didn't have understanding fully until the drop of the holy spirit sent forth by God through the Lord Jesus.

Interesting is it not? Do you have any thoughts on any of these things?

Hello I found this today; just 10 minute ago anyone have any thoughts?

Just sat down to read the book of Matthew and found this; now we can know for sure Jesus was the branch! Unless it means King David instead but believe that it means from King David eventually a shoot would come out being Jesus who would live life in what is stated in the original post from Isiah. I do not know what do you think?

Check this out:

“The record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham: Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers. Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez was the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram. Ram was the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon.

Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of David the king.

David was the father of Solomon by Bathsheba who had been the wife of Uriah. Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa. Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah. Uzziah was the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah. Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, and Amon the father of Josiah. Josiah became the father of Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon. After the deportation to Babylon: Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel. Zerubbabel was the father of Abihud, Abihud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor. Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud. Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations.”
