““If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you. “I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. “These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬-‭27‬ ‭RSV‬‬

RSV? Are you and I the only two in the world who still use the (Old) Revised Standard Version of the Bible?

No, probably not. It is a cool read through though. I missed placed the free one that I had gotten from a church that had free books posted.

I was given an RSV during confirmation glass when I was a boy. I've seen no reason to switch versions. Recently I couldn't find an RSV so I bought a New King James Version.

Christianbook, and eBay is a good way to buy bibles. There are many cool bibles out there, and helpful to people who are able to read a higher level of reading like 12th grade language; or a reading level lower than that, New Living Translation is a very easy read though it is a thought-for-thought layout; comparing to the King James; they are similar but there are differences. King James is a good version for the most part in my opinion; there are better ones liked you mentioned with the Revised Standard Version (1980s) and now they have a (2020 updated version I think for Rsv it may be Nasb), Bob.

My own recommendation would be this type of Bible to study: Thompson Chain Study Bible - Christianbook.com
