See now. I think knowing what the bread is is the most important thing a person can do.

If you get it right, and eat it. You will never die. And spend eternity with God

If you get it wrong. And eat something else. You will remain dead. And suffer the second death. Because you have not believe in the one thing that can save you

Compairing bread from heaven to tithing I guess is ok. But if we get what tithing is wrong, It will not affect our eternal destiny..
“But if we get what tithing is wrong, it will not affect our eternal destiny” it maybe does if it’s all lumped together with boasting of one against another. With the bread of sincerity or the bread of maliciousness… to me it’s all the same where it wasn’t only His saying “I am the bread from heaven” “get this right!” But all of it even the conversation with Nicodemus on you must be born again from above …His saying “I am the bread” still to me speaks of the contrast between sincerity and with malice.
1 Corinthians 5:6-8 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? [7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: [8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Where he spoke of the law and trying to fulfill the whole law works wrath, because in some point you’ll fail. So to me what is the bread of sincerity which Christ said “I am that bread given from God” still relates to all the other things “with malice and wickedness” one can use to entrap others while speaking on “the bread of sincerity which is Christ”…without malice and wickedness. I really don’t see how one is unconnected from the other.

Num 18:24
But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
Oh, that's a new nugget....
The Levites shall have no inheritance among the children of Israel.

Heb 7:11
If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:12
For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Heb 7:26
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Heb 7:27
Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Heb 7:28
For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

traditions....

QUESTION?????

Jhn 6:57
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

Does this mean Jesus ate his Father???????????

Staying in the lines of John 6.

Hugs

Heb 7:28

Bring the whole tithe into storehouse to me connects with “by the mercies of God, present your bodies as living sacrifices: holy and acceptable” what is “whole”…what is “your bodies” to me it takes on a new meaning in don’t bring and offer God something flawed or “partial” … consider all the list in the OT about God sneering at “hunch-backed- crooked nosed- …sacrifices with blemishes” but did God sneer at the sacrifice of those broken-hearted or the fact that those being brought to Him were being brought by those who called and named those “flawed” and full of “blemishes”. To me it takes on a new meaning where God says “I don’t want your blemished sacrifices brought to me any more”. But it being on the ones who bring him “a whole tithe” yet call it “as not whole”…but partial. Consider this mindset He keeps teaching of a “whole” body where one member cares for its members, and how those “members” are “members” of one another.

So is it God who makes high priest over men with infirmities …or those who love to bring “a dead” sacrifice and prove “it as dead” with “infirmities” not as “whole” nor “alive”. To me that changes “present your bodies as Living” …in don’t present “dead” members to Me. How Christ reconciled the body unto God not imputing sin onto the members of His own body. Yet we love to be the imputers of sins upon our own members as good as calling it a body with blemishes and dead. Not a “living sacrifice” “holy and acceptable” unto God. Ironic it’s what we present unto God …so if it’s not whole nor living …then the whole body is dead and stinks of not as acceptable unto God.

Which makes me think of:

Gen 2:19
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

I suppose man has a habit of labeling things as he "sees" them and maybe not as they appear to God.

Which jumps me to:
Act 11:9
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Which makes me ask. If we are cleansed by His word, and His righteousness, then so do we still require forgiveness for our sins?
Jesus cleaned the disciples feet, He made them clean. After they ate and drank.

Think about the order...
Usually you wash your face and hands before dinner. And I believe the custom of the Jews was to wash their feet upon entering a home.

Upon entering.... a new covenant, a new testament.

Rapid fire... like I have a hundred voices in my head say look here, look there..

It says the law:

Heb 7:28
For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Because of geneology. They are priests in the case of Aaron and the Levites made by the law.
Not because God made them priests like Melchizadek, whom is a type of Jesus' priesthood.

But then you have the argument, God wrote the law. Which is fine. He sent Jesus to change it.

So what is the infirmity if not the assumption of priesthood based on one's geneology and not rather chosen by God?

You always send me on an exciting expedition VJ.

Lol…seriously that exact same thing has been on my mind ever since you posted about the priesthood. Exactly. “To see what Adam would call them”!
I suppose man has a habit of labeling things as he "sees" them and maybe not as they appear to God.
Agree.

Did he say whoever ate that bread would never hunger or thirst. Will never die. Will live forever. Will never be cast out. Has eternal life. And will be raised on the last day?

Yes He did.

Which is why St. Ignatius of Antioch says this:

I have no delight in the food of corruption or
in the delights of this life. I desire the bread of
God, which is the flesh of Christ who was of the seed
of David; and for a draught I desire His blood, which
is love incorruptible.

St. Ignatius of Antioch to the Romans (Lightfoot translation)

and again this:

breaking one bread, which is the
medicine of immortality and the antidote that we
should not die but live for ever in Jesus Christ.

Ignatius of Antioch to the Ephesians (Lightfoot translation)

EG,

I have a complete understanding of how you, a mere man who is reading Scripture 2,000 years after it was written, do not believe that John 6 and the Last Supper are connected. Your interpretation of the Last Supper is that we just eat/drink regular bread/wine in remembrance of Him and it is not His body/blood like he said it was. Your interpretation of Scripture does not connect John 6 and the Last Supper! I have read what you have written 2,00 years AFTER these events occurred and your interpretation of those events. A mere man who wasn't there 2,000 years ago.

But then I read what Paul, who was there, writes and it makes we wonder, Should I believe EG's writings or Paul's writings: The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.

I then read what a student of the Apostle John writes......Yes JOHN, THAT JOHN, the person you are trying to interpret 2,000 years later....And what that person writes, a person who actually TALKED to John, is not what YOU are writing. Soooooo I am having a tough time deciding who to believe. YOU or Ignatius of Antioch; I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the Bread of God, WHICH IS THE FLESH OF JESUS CHRIST, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I DESIRE HIS BLOOD, which is love incorruptible. (Letter to the Romans 7:3)

Take care, then, to use one Eucharist, so that whatever you do, you do according to God: FOR THERE IS ONE FLESH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, and one cup IN THE UNION OF HIS BLOOD; one ALTAR, as there is one bishop with the presbytery… (Letter to the Philadelphians 4:1)

They [i.e. the Gnostics] abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that THE EUCHARIST IS THE FLESH OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. (Letter to Smyrnians 7:1)

Well that's weird....What Ignatius said matches up with what Paul said and what Paul said matches up with what Jesus said and since Ignatius is a student of John then that must mean that he is repeating what JOHN TOLD HIM.

What EG has said A THOUSAND times doesn't match up with what Jesus and Paul and John and Ignatius said. So YES, you are right EG. You can say something 1,000 times and it still doesn't make it true!!

I know, I know we can't trust the writings of someone who the Catholic Church says is a student of John. The CC killed everyone that disagreed with them therefore we don't know for sure blah blah blah yada yada yada......Please don't go there.
you deny the power of Jesus words. You deny everything that he said we must do to reach an eternity with God

You Think because you have a so called 2000 year evidence that you are right, and everyone else is wrong. Because no one taught it before. Yet even if people did teach it before we would never know. Because your churched would erased that content from history

Jesus said if we come to him, He will never let us go. He said if we look to him and believe in him, We will never die

You turn that into some ceremony that was done, Like the feast of unleavened bread (the actual Night when jesus instituted the last supper I might add) which was to help the Israelites remember when they were saved, Now given to the church, to help those of us who have been saved from God to remember that salvation and where it came from. Into some means we must do to be saved.

Your stuck

Your stuck because like the jews, who were stuck on the messiah coming not as the suffering servant. but as King messiah to free them from rome. So they were unable to see anything Jesus said, because like he said they did not believe

Your stuck, in relating the bread from heaven, the flesh and blood given on the cross. With which whoever ate that bread (believed in him) would never perish but will live forever. Onto a ceremony where we eat in remembrance of him, where he never promised anyone who ate it (nor did Paul when he spoke of it) that they would bnever perish but live forever if they ate it

You’re stuck where all religious people are, in thinking it is through your deeds that you in the end earn salvation. Through your baptism, Through your Eucharist. Through your penance and all the things you do and believe, which will in the end make you worthy of Gods love and salvation.

its not just catholics which do this.. Many denominations fall into this Lie of satan that if you just do these things, God will forgive you.. Just like religious people have done from the begining of time after the fall. The human self righteousness that think you will be saved by or through your works.

The jews used Abraham and Moses and their history to convince themselves they were right and the true followers of God were in error

The catholics use Peter and Christ, and their history to convince themselves they are right, and the true followers of God are wrong

The jews used circumcision, and all their works of the law and traditions to prove they kept the law. And when Christ came and told them all those works were meaningless. They spent three years trying to figure out how to kill him.

The jews us Baptism, the Eucharist and all of their works and traditions to prove they have kept and Guarded Gods word. And spent 1500 years murdering Gods people who rejected their legalism, and their history and their doctrines.

I am actually amazed as to how easy men fall for satans trap. We have the jewish histRoy to show what we should not do. And what would entrap us. yet 300 years after christ. We fell for the same trap. Used the same excuses, and made the exact same mistake the jews made (ony our traditions and names were different)

A man names saul gathered an army and would have killed me for what I believe. And did kill many christians, because they did not believe what paul believed, and were in essence protestors of God and his Church. Jesus Knocked him of his high horse and asked him why he was doing what he was doing

The roman church killed and murdered thousands because they did not believe what they believed. and considered them worthy of death because they were protestors of God and the church.

Yet here we are 2000 years later. And while the power of rome has fell so they have no authority (in most of the world anyway) of murdering in the name of God, They still have not figured out what Saul and the 11, and so many other people did.

That our works are bloody rags, worthless. That we have all sinned and fall short of Gods glory. That through The shedding of innocent blood, we are clothed in Gods righteousness (see Adam and Eve) we were redeemed from our sin. That we are given eternal life because we HEARD THE WORDS that can save us, Ate them, chewed on them, and repented and came to Christ.

The Day of atonment tradition showed us the truth about Gods love and forgiveness.

Inside the mercy seat was all the charged God had Against Isreal. The ten commands, which they did not keep and proved their guilt before God in failing to keep his standard. Arrons rod that budded, Which was proof of the rebellion of the children of Israel against God. And the golden pot of Manna which proved the guilt of Israel in lacking faith in his provisions.

On both sides of this was the cherub, who looked down on these things On the day of atonement, The blood was put on the top of the ark. So the cherub could not see the guilt of the people. All they could see was the blood of the innocent that died to atone for the sins of the people.

This is a picture of the cross. This is what Jesus wants you to gnaw and chew on. The blood he spilt to pour over our souls and cover our sins, so when God looks at us, he does not see the things we are guilty of. He sees the blood of his sone, which covers or atones us of those sins, because jesus paid that debt in full.

Thats salvation. Thats the one work in all creation that could save us, and the only work. Jesus died once for all time.

But he will not force you to believe, He will allow you to hide from the light because you love your sin, he will allow you to be like the jew, and try to replace his work with your works. He will allow you to do whatever he will.

But he will NOT allow you to see heaven apart from being born again, Jesus said we MUST be born again, He did not give us an option. And he told us how.. Look up to the cross. And believe (have faith)

that it.

I am sure you will not read all of this. I am sure you will get mad and call me anticatholic or whatever excuse you have to not listen to what jesus said.

But when you stand before Christ on Judgment day. You will have no excuse.

My prayer is you come out fro under her and see Gods truth.. This is not a win or lose fight, there are no winners..

but I have found the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, i can just pray you will too

I hear … “don’t bring me dead members of your body” to prove yourselves with …in doing so you only prove your own infirmities by naming your own members as not living nor holy nor acceptable unto God. Bring me the “whole” tithe. As not any one member works alone but as a part of a whole body.

We are one bread.
1Co 10:17
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

1Co 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1Co 10:14
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
1Co 10:15
I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
1Co 10:16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1Co 10:17
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1Co 10:18
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
1Co 10:19
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
1Co 10:20
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
1Co 10:21
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
1Co 10:22
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

So Paul begins with a warning... concerning tempation and idolatry.

Have you ever done a word search for the word "cup" ?
In the OT the word cup was not used very favorably in the prophets.
But David had some positive things to say..
My cup runneth over...

But Jesus after supper ended and just before being aprehended, Prayed that this cup be removed from him 3 times.

What is the meaning of the word cup in this instance? Where can we find it in the OT.

Isa 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
1Co 2:13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

What IS the cup of blessing only found in the NT?

And then this pops in:

Deu 11:26
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

1Co 11:27
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1Co 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

Who is worthy?

thinking...

Bodies as in many members of the one.
So when he says bodies, is Paul speaking of "churches" ?
To the church that is at..... and to the church that is at.....
Even though there be "many bodies" or "many churches" ...
To the church which is at... that they all speak the same thing as one body.

This is not a win or lose fight, there are no winners..

but I have found the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, i can just pray you will too
I wish I could remember what they were talking about on the radio the other day about someone teaching you how to send a text. How to be careful if the one teaching you as an expert on how to send a text…sends you a text by email. It’s like…you’re going to be the one teaching me about texting and yet you text me an email? Big red flag…probably doesn’t make sense but it made sense at the time.

I have no delight in the food of corruption or
in the delights of this life. I desire the bread of
God, which is the flesh of Christ who was of the seed
of David; and for a draught I desire His blood, which
is love incorruptible.

I can understand His Blood, which IS love incorruptible.
But what does the Flesh represent? It has to be Life?
And it is the Spirit that is life, the flesh profiteth nothing.

Jesus talking about his flesh, he's talking about Israel.
Israel was broken, that covenant that they made with God. The one they chose with death....
ahhh...
The one they chose with death was broken...

Isa 28:15
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa 28:18
And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

1Co 11:26
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Jesus aint dead.

But that covenant Israel made with death died the day Jesus died on the cross and rose again.
Disannulling that agreement they had made with death.

For Salvation is of the Jews.

Deep...

Oh, that's a new nugget....
The Levites shall have no inheritance among the children of Israel.
God chose the Levites instead of the first borns, male.. God is the Levites inheritance. Nu 18:20

I told the Lord if I could choose a tribe and strangers and sojourners could do that... I would choose being a Levite. We are told in revelations we are kings and priests the priests were the Levites. Plus I wanted Him God as my inheritance

Once again

He said if we eat the bread of life we will never die.

Nothing else matters

If we do not get the bread right, we will die.

Alma Redemptoris Mater
I have no delight in the food of corruption or in the delights of this life .
Sounds wonderful indeed .
SO allow me a question dear phillip . HOW come so many within the realm of what is commonly called
christainity feeding from the words of men , accepting and honoring CERTAIN sins , even calling certain sins LOVE .
CAUSE that sure seems to contradict the TRUE BREAD , the true words of CHRIST and of the apostels .
SEEMS to me like many can quoate things verbatum , and yet the direction they take one
seemth to contradict GOD . Cause the one i know who first did that and even tried it on CHRIST
was THE DEVIL . DO remember that the DEVIL can quaote , VERBATUM , the scrips .
AND YET he will use this word for word quoate in a way that WILL CONTRADICT GOD , CHRIST .
example . The devil will and can surely say GOD IS LOVE
but then will use that perfectly TRUE QUOATE to imply ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST
He will even call certain sins as love . THE DEVIL IS and has MADE a very , and philip do i ever mean , VERY BROAD WAY TO GOD .
SO allow this flea a few words to remind us of exactly what HE did in the garden . And how he got EVE to TRUST HIM
to BELEIVE HIM rather than GOD .
Eve told him , WE shall not eat of the tree in the midst of the garden of GOD , for in that day we eat of it
we shall surely die . PROOF that eve DID indeed believe what GOD had said .
BUT , the serpent is very wise and he will allure to the flesh of mankind .
FOR he said , NAY , NAY ye shall not surely die , and then said a truth , YE shall become as gods knowing good and evil .
WHICH in fact DID happen , but THEY ALSO DIED .
NOW the serpent made it seem like GOD was indeed wrong about their death , and that eating of the tree was in reality
GOOD FOR THEM . Now GOD even says they have become as us to know good and evil . SO THAT DID HAPPEN .
BUT THEY DIED . You see HE got eve to BELEIVE HIM and NOT TO BELIEVE what GOD had said .
NOW lets look at this all inclusive love spell of his .
Now visualize this please .
HAS GOD said YE must believe in JESUS CHRIST to be saved . And the church , the wife of CHRIST
says , YES , GOD did say WE must believe and that if one hears and believes not that will be damned .
NAY NAY sayeth the serpent , they will not be damned if they hear and believe not
FOR GOD IS LOVE . All they need to do is just have love . YA SEE HOW THE DEVIL LIES . HE uses GOD IS LOVE
as a means TO OMIT what GOD SAID , what JESUS SAID . HE IS DOING IT AGAIN . and christendom IS BUYING IT UP
and calling it love , believing all religoins are fine as long as they love their neighbor . THEY BEING GATHERED AS ONE
to SATAN , NOT GOD , as one to ANTI CHRIST and not CHRIST .
And under no circumstances IS JESUS THE MINSTIR OF SIN , SO I ALSO SUGGEST folks quit heeding the love of money prosperity
gospel and quit PUTTING UP RAINBOWS in them churches . WE are in DIRE TROUBLE PHILLIP .
a very strong delusoin that calls itself love has entered in and tis NO LOVE OF GOD , it cometh of the world and through
the flesh will allure the world, its religoins and even christendom to rise as one UNDER A lie of a love that will SAVE NONE
and DAMN all who bought and taught it .

Yet unless he said this bread while give EVERYONE who eats it eternal life. And the promise they will never die, they have passed from Judgment to life.

Then he Is in error..

Why would you look to a man who is dead to confirm your beliefs, and not the Living word of God which lives forever?

Maybe that's a version of -- "Don't tell me.... show me." If you want to teach someone how to fish..... take them fishing. (don't text them instructions)

"For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” John 6:33

Then Jesus said-- "I am the bread of life."

The bread of heaven is not the one born here. It's not the flesh. It's the one who came down from heaven. It is spiritual, not physical. Spirit, not man. Jesus explained in terms he wanted them to understand-- As with Moses-- it's not the physical man that gives you anything-- the bread comes from the Father... what Jesus called 'the solemn truth." It is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven. John 6:32
