You don't need to be in the ministry very long before you are asked questions about this subject the FIRST time. Guess what, you'll be asked again and again and sometimes you'll be immersed in the aftermath. That subject is suicide. The usual question is: "What will happen to me afterward?" The answer is you will be guilty of committing murder and no, its not the unforgivable sin. There's one MAJOR point which is often missed when answering that question and that point is you will also be guilty of NOT trusting God!!! No matter what the problem is which may be causing suicidal thoughts, God can help us. He may not help us in the way we want but rest assured, He knows exactly what is going on and He has a Plan for you! That Plan may include having you walk down a rocky road to help you get closer to Him, to strengthen your faith and learn how He is worthy of your complete trust. Admittedly, it is a very hard sell to try to convince someone to trust in God and maybe that "someone" is yourself? You lost your job and you can pinpoint the exact day when you will be out of money. God can arrange to have a bag of money suddenly appear at your door along with a job offer. That would solve the problem right then and there but what about the next problem? Would you rather have that bag of money right now or know for an absolute fact, YOU CAN TRUST AND RELY ON HIM? Which option has the Higher net worth? I don't know about you but I'd rather not be in His presence trying to answer His question: "Why didn't you trust Me???". I can tell you thru my many years of diverse background, the best lessons, lessons which will stick with you forever, are learned along the rocky road. The ingredients in the "lesson plan" are patience, staying in His Word, prayer, mentorship, remembering how He helped you in the past, doing what Godly things you can do to help yourself.

That subject is suicide.

Suicide is forgiven by the Cross of Christ, exactly as every other "sin".

If the Reader cares to read about SAMSON....... you'll find that He committed suicide...

What happened next?

The NT defines him as a '" Hero of the Faith".

And here is another thought, for you.. if you are one of those who is counting all your deeds hoping that God will add them all up after you die, because you believe that is why God would keep you.... (if you do enough good stuff)...vs (bad stuff).

A.) The only reason God will accept you or keep you, is because of : The Cross of Christ.

-= Accept no Substitute, as God wont.

And,
it could be that you have not realized that When God took you as His own, He already knew what you were going to do wrong, later.......and everytime you would.
Do you actually believe that what you are going to do tomorrow is not known by God before you were born?
Reader, God knows what you are thinking, right now.... = GOD's FOREKnowledge..

So, when you come to understand that God saved you, knowing all about what you would do later, and He saved you anyway...

Understand?

So, that is also regarding the SUICIDE.. As obviously God would know if a person who became A Christian, 32 seconds ago, is going to commit suicide 34 months from now. =
God's Foreknowledge.

And God saved them anyway......
Why?
Because The Cross of Christ is why God takes you and keeps you.......and that has nothing to do with how you behave later..........or yesterday.

WELCOME TO :
SALVATION.

Its a "GIFT". that you dont earn, and can't lose.

Suicide is not forgivable.

Samson is an invalid example.

Unless you’ve been imprisoned by an enemy nation and died while fighting the enemy for God’s sake you have no business using Samson’s case to justify murdering yourself.

“…no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” (1 John 3:15, KJV)

That was what I was taught about suicide many years ago. But how can a person who has never known God's hand upon their life trust him? A few years ago the son of a friend took his own life and at his funeral the preacher spoke of how Samson, Saul and Judas had taken their own lives and not to condemn the young man who had.

Have you contemplated or attempted suicide?

Much love!
Hi Marks and that answer is yes! The was many years ago, more than 35! I was immersed in a problem I could not resolve. Although I knew generally about the Christian message, I didn't come to decision time for many years after that. I accepted the fact suicide was the only way out and fully expected around Christmas time of that year is when I would be most motivated to it. Then suddenly, without any indication, He changed something in my life! I fully suspect He knew I would be moving forward with my decision and accordingly, He completely re-directed my life. The problem I was dealing with was never changed but He took me in a direction I would have never gone on my own and as such, what I learned from that "new direction" has enabled me to help others who had other types of problems. I became their biggest cheerleaders and still am. That wasn't because of me, it was because of Him! I had everything planned out and ready to go! He stepped in and changed it all! There's no doubt in my mind, His hand was in this and He engineered it all! Engineering and aeronautics was my primary professional education and I still retain my professional credentials but haven't practiced in the field for a long time. These days, my work is in more important things...one soul at a time!!!

I think the real understanding is that God both establishes and reinterprets.

First get your feet on the ground and do something (pray, write, et al), then wait for God to turn it around.
