My opinions are based on understanding of scriptures just as everyone else. It all boils down as to how you interpret them.
Yes, but however, even Satan's lies are based off scriptures to make it sound so holy.

It is impossible to please God without faith(Heb. 11:6). For all that God has done and proven in our lives, and then for us not to believe his word....Well that has to be displeasing.Moses acted on faith(Ex. 17:5), He could not have brought water out of the rock without acting on what God had already said. Gideon difeated the Midianites by faith(Judg. 6:16). Elijah multipleied the oit and flour by faith (1 Kings 17:14-16).For miracles and healing faith has to manifested.

I don't know if I'm getting my point across, but I will try it again. It's true that it is impossible to please God without Faith. God calls us to discern what is True and what is a Lie...what I'm saying is, Satan uses scriptures to get whatever he want for he is a Wicked.(Edit posted after you. I will speak on tongues briefly, because most that have read my post know where I stand on this issue.Speaking a language of men or angels that you do not understand(1 Cor. 13:1)-this is manifested just as the other gifts =, through the Holy Spirit. Without Holy Spirit-no speaking in tongues!1 Cor. 15:5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues...sounds like He wants us to speak in tongues. This is not speaking of wishing..He shed this forth that happen on the day of Pentecost, they heard it and saw it!(Acts 2:33). This is a genuine language, not gibberish or babble. Some languages seem strange to our ears when we hear them. The Bible says the spirit is praying, but the mind is unfruitful (1 Cor. 14:14),We speak to God and not to men(1 Cor. 14:2). I believe tongues is a prayer or praise language, Every where you see tongues mentioned they are magnifing God. I know that not all agree with this understanding, but that is o.k. with me. I have learned a lot and changed my belief...only when it is shown in scriptures.

A lot of people say that speaking in tongues is evidence of being born again. I can not agree with this at this time, because I know I was saved at an earlier age, but did not speak in tongues until years later. Maybe it was because I was taught that they did not exist. On the day of Pentecost the people understood in their own language what the disciples were speaking(wonders of God). I do not read any where else that this occurs in the scriptures, this seems to be a one time event (unbelievers understanding). Speaking in tongues is praise to God, giving thanks well,(Acts 10:42; 1 Cor.14:16-17). It is also edifying to the one speaking(1 Cor. 14:4; Jude20). I believe it is praying in the spirit even though some disagree(1 COr. 14:14-15)Speaking in tongues is always under the control of the speaker, I believe this is why some speak in tongues right off and others do not. This is why it can be taught how to do it right. Tongues as we are told are used incorrectly in some churches. Tongues can be loud, quiet and we can sing in this manifestation.

Please know that every body here in this forum is speaking in an English tongue. And we all understood. Are we edify ourselves or the Church? If God gave a Spanish tongue and I was well learned, Do you think God wants me to teach the Word of God to Spanish people in their own language? (Spanish)

Interpretation of tongues comes from the Lord and not our own interpretaion. The Bible says that we do not understand what we are saying in tongues so how can WE interpret.....it is through the Holy Spirit. In a church assembly if someone speaks in tongues he should also interpret so all can be edified(1 Cor.14:5). It looks like the one speaking should be the one to interpret.....So this is all done through the supernatual Spirit, not from ourselves. If we look at vs. 5 and 13 it seems to clear this up that the one speaking must be the one to interpret. The reason I say this is how would I know if someone had an interpretation if I spoke in tongues, but I would know if God supernaturally gave me an interpretation. Speaking in tongues is said to be to God and not man (1Cor.14;2). It is praise and pray to God, so the interpretation should also be praise and prayer to God. Prophecy is a message to the people, tongues is praise to God. If the assembly hears a praise to God through tongues.......it edifies the Church.

Speaking in tongue is speaking praise and prayer to God. If we speak in church the interpretation should be a praise to God..in scripture it says we speak to God and not man.(1 Cor. 14:2)

A word(message)of knowledge is information, understanding given to us from God through the Holy Spirit. This is just information, not what to do with the information (that would be wisdom). Since this is also a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, it is not general knowledge (even an unbeliever has this). The greek word logos is not a vocabulary word it is more like an idea. The Bible is the Word-a message from God. God gave us the Bible through revelation-a message.Revelation has many forms...you may hear a voice in your spirit...see a picture or vision.....an inner knowing. This is not a believer giving a message to others, this is God giving us a message.1 Cor. does not explain this gift..probably because they did not need an explanation. They had the apostles, Old Testament saints, prophets and probably there own experiences. There are probably hundreds of examples in the Bible of this manifestation..Moses,Jacob, Joseph, Abraham, Issac. It is exciting to know that God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit..He guides us in this life. Yes the Bible is our guide, but there are personal things that we need to hear from God...Should I take this job, marry this person etc. This is not spelled out in the Bible on a personal level. We have a personal God!

I guess everyone is discussed out on the manifestations. That is o.k. it still helps me get my thought together to write what I have learned. Maybe someone will come along and enlighten me more.A message(word) of wisdom is God giving direction about what to do in a situation...this is more than knowledge (facts). God will tell you something(knowledge) and then tell you what to do(wisdom). Sometimes he will tell you what to do(wisdom) and then tell you why(knowledge). This is not a message through another person, this is directly from God into your spirit. We need to listen for the voice of God. We are to ask for wisdom..James 1:5.

Prophecy is speaking, writing or otherwise communicating a message from one person to another.God can communicate this through word of knowledge, wisdom. In the Old Testament the Spirit came upon people and they prophecied. Today we have the Holy Spirit indwelt, everyone can prophecy. (1 Cor. 14:24)This manifestation is to strengthen, encourage and comfort people (1 Cor. 14:3) It can reveal the secrets of peoples hearts(1Cor. 14:24-25)bringing them closer to God. There are false prophets and false prophecies. It was true in the Old Testament, when Jesus lived and in the church today. Just because there are false prophecy does not mean the real is not here today. We will know them by there fruits. Prophecy is not just about the future, it can be past, present or future. It can be for a group of people or just one person. We should be eager to prophecy(1 Cor. 14:39).

I would like to discuss the gifts listed in 1 Corinthians one at a time. I would like to understand what each one was for back then and today. The first one mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12 is word of wisdom. My understanding of this one is a supernatural manifestation, it is not general wisdom. God reveals his mind, purpose and plan to man.General wisdom can be attained by anyone that ask. James 1:5The Gift of word of wisdom is not given to everyone. 1 Corinthians 12:8
The word of wisdom, is God revealing future events, It is always future. For instance, I was doing a two week healing crusade, and one morning I got up a good while an went up into some hills to pray. And God said to me, "A lady in a wheelchair will come in tonight, and go out of the Church healed". That was a word of wisdom. Have you ever heard the saying, "It is always easy to be wise after the event". But we want to be wise before the event, to be able to deal with it. That is why God gives us the word of wisdom. The word of knowledge is the same princable, but it is always past or presence knowledge. For instance, when I do a healing meeting, God may say to me, " There's someone here with such & such a sickness". Or "Someone here has had a accident and broke a leg".

so you actually see this happening all the time?

Wisdom is UNDERSTANDING more than you were taught/told (because of your own personal reasoning with God "Come, let us REASON together" Isaiah 1:18. GET UNDERSTANDING, Proverbs 16:16, Ephesians 5:17.Many people hear God's message and INTERPRET it to mean what they want it to (the result is that they fail to UNDERSTAND it, Matthew 13:13 and 19). They have the "strong delusion" because they do not love the objective truth (they settle for SUBJECTIVE/biased truth) and are not saved (2 Thessalonians 2:10). All throughout history, the introductory doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1) has been taught, but the "hirelings" (John 10:13) have been irresponsible and have not encouraged us to move on to a deeper relationship with The Lord and "enter by the door" (John 10:1) so we can "walk by the SPIRIT" (Galatians 5:16 and 25) and live "under the law of LIBERTY" (James 1:25 and 2:12). The 'sin laws' were abolished (Ephesians 2:15) and we should be transformed [into a new creation] by the renewal of our MIND (Romans 12:2).God's true message is not in parables (Matthew 13:13), nor will it be found with ancient cultures/scriptures, ancient worship habits or feasts (because the SPIRIT had not yet been given, John 7:39).For the TRUE worshiper (John 4:23) who knows God as "ABBA FATHER", Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6 (not 'taskmaster') and is a "FRIEND" of God (not slave/servant), the "SWORD OF THE SPIRIT" (Ephesians 6:17) is the word of God, and scripture is the "WORD OF TRUTH" (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6).The "rivers of living water" (John 7:38, Revelation 7:16) that flowed from Christ's side at the cross along with His blood are 'tears of SORROW' compassion (the spirit) for those who suffer misfortune (sorrow makes us sad/"poor in spirit", Matthew 5:3). We should "HEAR" His voice (John 10:27) so that when we learn from His eternal spirit how to clearly divide/discern between good and evil/wrong (as with a "sword" so that there is no middle ground, "no variation or shadow", James 1:17), our conscience can be purified also (Hebrews 9:14).The bible did not die on the cross, neither did the brethren. We have a kinship with the brethren, but we should show no partiality to the brethren (James 2:1 and 2:9)as we do the works of God (John 6:28 and 29) so that we can be justified in HIM (Galatians 2:16 and 17). True Christianity (GODLY Christianity) is not a 'faith', it is a LOVE (a "MORE EXCELLENT WAY", 1 Corinthians 12:31, the "GREATEST of these", 1 Corinthians 13:13). God is LOVE.The book of Job was a historically correct LOVE story, not a story of faith. All verses are from the Revised Standard Version.

The manifestation of Discerning of Spirits is when God reveals to us information about the presence of spirits(demonic/ holy).God has not left us alone....he has empowered us for battle. The greek word for discerning(diakrisis) can mean-distinguishing,differentiation, to quarrel, dispute. This is given to help us deal with our adversary. We learn from Jesus how to use the power to recognize and cast out demons(Matt. 8:16,9:33,10:1). We all will come across demons even if we do not recognize them. Eph. 6:12 says we wrestle with demonic powers...this is written to every christian. Jesus taught his disciples how to cast out demons(Matt. 10:8, Luke 10:17).We see how in Acts 5 that Peter discerned that Ananias heart was filled with satan...Acts 13:10 Paul knew that Elymas was a child of the devil...Acts 16:16-18 Paul knew that the slave mocking them was influenced by a demon, and knew when to cast him out.We need to learn how to manifest this gift especially as time grows near to the end...Christ came to set the captives free.

This is going to be a hard one to get into for me because I still do not understand a lot about it.....Manifestation of gifts of healings.......It is my understanding that this is the Holy Spirit healing through us..it is all by the power of the Holy Spirit. This can only be done if you get a message of wisdom or knowledge to reveal God's plan for you to manifest healing. (In other words you can not just manifest this at will, it is at the Spirits will..1 Cor. 12:11). Not every healing is done through the manifestation of gifts of healings. There are a lot of people healed by taking good care of them self...bandaids,medication or just by the grace of God without another person being involved. It is only when the gift of holy spirit inside another Christian is used as the gifts of healing. First a person needs to get a word of knowledge/wisdom to know what to do.Second, he needs manifestation of faith-believe God at his word of knowledge/wisdom.third, he must be represent Christ as the energy(Holy Spirit) brings it to pass. All gifts ar to be motivated with compassion-not pride or arrogance.

And my problem with this is the Word says that anyone with this gift should be able to drink poison and it would not affect them it also says they are instanly healed in veiw of everyone of obvious disease's like leporasy Why is it that people who claim this its only unseen things a broken leg ??????? come on it would heal anyway God doesnt waste time with a broken leg if Alan or anyone can really heal let them drink poison and go to the childrens or veteratains hospital. Not arguing with you setfreeIts just what scripture says a healer should be able to do.
