Had a quick look through such a long thread. The gifts of the Spirit are something very important to the body of Christ, the church. Some may have more than one gift but you have to use those gifts to keep them in supply. I have found the gifts given according to the work we are called to do. It is clear the spostles had all the gifts of the Spirit. Their faith was great because they had been with Christ and seen him after his resurrection also witnessing all he did.Christ said, " He who believes in me shall do what I do, yea he will do greater things than I."So look at all Christ did, the gifts of God can be seen clearlyin believers but if someone has a gift you do not, how do you expect to understand this gift? The Spirit gives us what we need and shows us the things to come.John the Divine was the perfect example of this and he was the longest living apostle. People put alot of merit on Paul but the real teachings about Christs second coming was given to John not to Paul. Paul was a man of his time to call the gentiles to faith. But John the Divine and the apostles also had the knowledge of the future given to them and with Peter the Spirit gave him what was in the hearts and minds of others, as Sapphira and Ananais proves.Today we do not allow the Spirit to do his work within us. Christ taught about the 10 virgins that all had received the oil of the Spirit to light their lamps but not all continued in the way of the Spirit. The New Testament, highlights the truth that the things we speak of on these pages can only be received by the following of the Spirits leading. Galatians 5 shows us the difference of being in Spirit rather than living under the law.Ephesians 6 teaches us that the sword is the word of God which the Spirit gives us. Christ saying the Spirit will give us what to say. So being in Spirit means every believer who walks in the Spirit will have the wisdom of the sword given to him by God.But you do have to know God the supplier through Christ Jesus to be continually filled by believing the word already given in the bible. If you do not absorb and obey Gods teaching in his scriptures, how can you ever hope to receive more?Faithful.
