Most have heard the old saying, 'there's two things are assured in this life, death and taxes.' We cannot escape either one.
Likewise for the end of this world, there's only two paths. One is the way of this world in thinking to escape all its trials and tribulations, which means willingly being deceived just for the reason of safety and comfort.
The only other path is to prepare to make a stand in Jesus Christ, keeping His commandments and the Faith, regardless of the world's trials and tribulations, even to the death and all the way to the end if necessary.
Luke 17:33
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

The 1st one 'taken' in Jesus' parable of Luke 17:34-37 is about those on the path of this... world, thinking to escape its trials and tribulations, peace and safety, comfort, they are thinking, and not prepared to bear their cross after Lord Jesus for the coming "great tribulation".
