Interestingly, I told my mother if someone starts causing problems and asking why I don't hang out with them to refer to Psalm 1.

It is true. I'm being judged based on how much people see myself and the kids out in the community and now someone had the nerve to ask about my work hours. (If they show up, especially if they have been drinking, I am walking away and having someone else handle it.)

Meanwhile, these people fall into a pit of destruction with their lifestyles and then try to peer through mine, like why are you not doing what I think you should be doing?

I want to say, "Who cares?! Why are you so worried about my life? My family is happy and my house is clean."

As the Finnish proverb goes, "Sweep your own front door."

That sounds like a midwest-ish small-town way of saying, "We care, and we'd like you to be part of our community".

But out of their intrusiveness, we are gaining more of God's backbone for our lives, to stand up straighter with our heads lifted up in our worship of who God is in our respective lives.
