This is going to seem like a strange topic and possibly some will view it as "heretical," "blasphemous," "petty," or who-knows-what-else, but this topic is brought up with all seriousness and reverence.
We all should know that there is a difference between "Lord" and "LORD," especially in the Old Testament of the KJV. "Lord" is a translation of the Hebrew word "Adonai," while "LORD" is a "translation" of the Tetragrammaton - the Four Letters that make up the Name of God, commonly transliterated as "YHWH" or "YHVH." (Some pronounce this as "Jehovah," some as "Yahweh," some as the combination as "Yahovah," but I pronounce it as "Yahuwh," sounding like "Yahoo" to the Western ear. I use this pronunciation because of how His Name appears in other names; e.g., Matthew = Matittyahu, Elijah = Eliyahu, and Jeremiah = Yirmeyahu, in Hebrew.) Not all English versions, however, make this distinction.
So, the Creator God, whom Yeshua` (Jesus) called "my Father," has the Name "YHWH" and is "translated" as "the LORD." Yeshua` the Messiah (and others) were given the title of respect, "Adonai," translated as the "Lord." This is a superlative version of the Hebrew word "Adoniy," which means "my Lord," or "my Sir," or just simply "Sir."
So, when David said, ...
Psalm 110:1
1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

... he was using both words, "YHWH" and "Adoniy." (If your English version doesn't make a distinction between these two words in translation, you've lost valuable and pertinent information in the translation.)
UNFORTUNATELY, the Greek translation of these words DO NOT make this distinction! This can be VERY disconcerting if one doesn't know the verse being quoted or being referenced. Consequently, neither does the New Testament, even of the KJV! One absolutely MUST see what someone was quoting to know whether the "Lord" should be "LORD" or remain "Lord," whether it is a translation of the Hebrew "YHWH" or "Adonai," respectively.
This results in not knowing whether the "Lord" of the New Testament is referring to God the Father or to the Son of God, Yeshua` (Jesus)!
A case in point is the following dialogue:
Matthew 22:41-46
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

If one didn't know that this verse quoted in verse 44 is from the above verse in the Old Testament, one might be confused by the way that the Greek uses the same word ("kurios") for BOTH instances of "Lord" in verse 44! And, this is just one of MANY such quotations that use one or the other from the Old Testament.
Many do not make the NECESSARY distinction between Yeshua` and God the Father that the Scriptures constantly emphasize. Trinitarian belief has degenerated to a common belief today that Yeshua` IS God (although He made no such claim for Himself). At best, Yeshua` acknowledged that He was "the Son of God." Most often, He called Himself "the Son of man," tantamount to saying a "true Human Being." He was constantly praying to His Father, and His will was not always in sync with His Father's will (although He bowed to His Father's will).
Now, let's add a little more "confusion" to the mix: Our understanding of the word "worship" is ...
'the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a deity." (a dictionary entry)
However, the Greek word TRANSLATED as "worship" is ...
NT:4352 proskuneoo (pros-koo-neh'-o); from NT:4314 and a probable derivative of NT:2965 (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):

So, putting all this together, sometimes the Scriptures may be talking about God the Father accepting worship when using the words "Lord" and "worship" together, but it might also be talking about the Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua`, receiving obeisance as the literal, physical King He most certainly will be someday soon as He begins the first 1000 years of His reign!
God the Father is the TRUE King of the Kingdom of Isra'el He created by taking the captives captive in the wilderness of Sinai. While the children of Isra'el demanded of Sh'mu'el (Samuel) a king like all the other nations had, God told Sh'mu'el that they had not rejected him (Sh'mu'el) but GOD HIMSELF from being their King! They were also told in no uncertain terms that such a king was going to be demanding and naturally excessive:
1 Samuel 8:1-22
1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beer-sheba.
3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.
12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.
22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

The first short-lived dynasty of Sha'uwl (Saul) was a DISASTER! He was, after all, just a human being!
The second dynasty of David was much better, but S
moh (Solomon), David's son, was indeed excessive in many ways! David's grandson, following the advice of the younger advisors and wanting to follow in his father's footsteps, caused the split of the Kingdom into two as the northern tribes of Isra'el had had enough.
However, the reason why David's dynasty was better was to be found in David's attitude:
2 Samuel 7:1-29
1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.
4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

21 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.
25 And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

(Some pronounce this as "Jehovah," some as "Yahweh," some as the combination as "Yahovah," but I pronounce it as "Yahuwh," sounding like "Yahoo" to the Western ear. I use this pronunciation because of how His Name appears in other names; e.g., Matthew = Matittyahu, Elijah = Eliyahu, and Jeremiah = Yirmeyahu, in Hebrew.) Not all English versions, however, make this distinction.
So, the Creator God, whom Yeshua` (Jesus) called "my Father," has the Name "YHWH" and is "translated" as "the LORD." Yeshua` the Messiah (and others) were given the title of respect, "Adonai," translated as the "Lord." This is a superlative version of the Hebrew word "Adoniy," which means "my Lord," or "my Sir," or just simply "Sir."
So, when David said, ...
Psalm 110:1
1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

... he was using both words, "YHWH" and "Adoniy." (If your English version doesn't make a distinction between these two words in translation, you've lost valuable and pertinent information in the translation.)
UNFORTUNATELY, the Greek translation of these words DO NOT make this distinction! This can be VERY disconcerting if one doesn't know the verse being quoted or being referenced. Consequently, neither does the New Testament, even of the KJV! One absolutely MUST see what someone was quoting to know whether the "Lord" should be "LORD" or remain "Lord," whether it is a translation of the Hebrew "YHWH" or "Adonai," respectively.
This results in not knowing whether the "Lord" of the New Testament is referring to God the Father or to the Son of God, Yeshua` (Jesus)!
A case in point is the following dialogue:
Matthew 22:41-46
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

If one didn't know that this verse quoted in verse 44 is from the above verse in the Old Testament, one might be confused by the way that the Greek uses the same word ("kurios") for BOTH instances of "Lord" in verse 44! And, this is just one of MANY such quotations that use one or the other from the Old Testament.
Many do not make the NECESSARY distinction between Yeshua` and God the Father that the Scriptures constantly emphasize. Trinitarian belief has degenerated to a common belief today that Yeshua` IS God (although He made no such claim for Himself). At best, Yeshua` acknowledged that He was "the Son of God." Most often, He called Himself "the Son of man," tantamount to saying a "true Human Being." He was constantly praying to His Father, and His will was not always in sync with His Father's will (although He bowed to His Father's will).
Now, let's add a little more "confusion" to the mix: Our understanding of the word "worship" is ...

However, the Greek word TRANSLATED as "worship" is ...
NT:4352 proskuneoo (pros-koo-neh'-o); from NT:4314 and a probable derivative of NT:2965 (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):

So, putting all this together, sometimes the Scriptures may be talking about God the Father accepting worship when using the words "Lord" and "worship" together, but it might also be talking about the Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua`, receiving obeisance as the literal, physical King He most certainly will be someday soon as He begins the first 1000 years of His reign!
God the Father is the TRUE King of the Kingdom of Isra'el He created by taking the captives captive in the wilderness of Sinai. While the children of Isra'el demanded of Sh'mu'el (Samuel) a king like all the other nations had, God told Sh'mu'el that they had not rejected him (Sh'mu'el) but GOD HIMSELF from being their King! They were also told in no uncertain terms that such a king was going to be demanding and naturally excessive:
1 Samuel 8:1-22
1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beer-sheba.
3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

The first short-lived dynasty of Sha'uwl (Saul) was a DISASTER! He was, after all, just a human being!
The second dynasty of David was much better, but S
moh (Solomon), David's son, was indeed excessive in many ways! David's grandson, following the advice of the younger advisors and wanting to follow in his father's footsteps, caused the split of the Kingdom into two as the northern tribes of Isra'el had had enough.However, the reason why David's dynasty was better was to be found in David's attitude:

2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
