Why does a perfect God have to resort to wrath?
He didn't. God is good.

On the contrary, He purposed to divide the light from the darkness (the good from the evil)--to free us from wrath. Wrath is just the consequence of one choosing evil instead of good. He set before us good and evil in the form of life and death, blessing and cursing, then told us to choose life. Alternatively, it is the one who chooses death and cursing who brings wrath upon themselves--by choice. That's freewill.

Who knows maybe the New Testament was just another Trojan Horse that the Greeks devised to deal with the other religions of that region. Which has unfortunately caused unexpected results.

Christianity began as a sect of Judaism, not paganism. You know that.

It borrowed heavily from paganism though.

The founder of Christianity - Jesus the Nazarene - wasn’t a pagan and didn’t borrow from paganism.

Broken record - keep our eyes on Jesus, not on fractured and fragmented Christianity.
