You know lastsecman,Christianity is, in some ways, very simple and at the same time complicated.Your post listed 3 very valid requirements and an affirmation or confirmation (Point 4) of being a Christian.God gave us ten commandments in the Old Testament which, one would assume, should be very simple laws to follow - end of story. But no! - mankind (The Jewish people, in that case) seems to provide infinite ways to avoid obeying some very simple laws (call them guidelines if it is easier to conform to).It is like sitting an important examination, having someone give you all the correct answers, while you are sat there, and ignoring the cheat sheet.Do we deliberately sabotage our own life? I would say we do - for some perverse reason. Is the road to salvation simple? - yes!!Is accepting the directions we are given to salvation simple? - No!What fools we are.......:naughty:

Only the third one. Then the others will fall into place as a result. The unsaved man or woman is incapable of loving God because they don't know Him.

Whenever I see a multiple choice question like the above, I know from school that this is a trick question, and that I am going to pick the wrong one

This one is rather obvious when he said, "To receive salvation". Anything other than the third answer is works, and no one is saved by works. Otherwise, we could stand proudly in heaven and say, "Yes, I had to help Jesus save me. I was so good and did so many good works, and His death and resurrection weren't enough anyway. If it wasn't for my goodness I wouldn't be here."

I would have probably guessed wrong then. I would have thought the catch was that we have to live by EVERY word - and chosen "all of the above"
