Hello MickinEngland, Out of respect for the other thread's authors, I wanted to continue this conversation on a new thread. You stated: Another thing, if Mt Zion is safe, why does God promise to shorten the endtime tribulation for the sake of his elect?I mean, if Zion was safe why would he still have to shorten the suffering? (Matt 24:22) My response: Here is the scenerio. During the 1260 days of the GT, all Christendom (all except those on Mount Zion) will be systematically terminated by the AC police and armies. Rev 13: 15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Then at the end of the GT, an event, recognized as a burning mountain which falls into the ocean occures Revelation 8:8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; (which I believe to be the destruction of Babylon) Jeremiah 51: 7Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. 25Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain. This destruction will innitally destroy 1/3 of the planet Revelation 8:7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. Revelation 8:11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Revelation 16:4And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. This destruction will be too overwhelming to the point that all life will be wiped out. However, for the "elects" (those on Mount Zion) sake, Christ interneves. This is how I understand it.
