More trouble in California!

Four Californian judges have passed a law preventing the right for parents to home school their children if they do not have a degree in teaching. This could effect about 40-60 thousand children. To make matters worse, Arnold Schwarzenegger recently passed Senate Bill 777 that states:
This bill would prohibit instruction or activity or the use of any instructional materials in public schools (or in some cases private schools receiving state financial assistance) that reflects adversely upon any persons because of their sexual orientation or actual or perceived gender. The bill also prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or actual or perceived gender in any program or activity conducted by a school that receives state financial assistance.
Children would be required to learn that homosexuality is an alternative. That there is nothing wrong with having two mothers or two fathers. The terms "mother" or "father" would be banned from text books because it goes against the status of homosexual parents. etc.Anyone will be denied to express their own beliefs (religious or not) because it would count as discrimination.-----------------------------------------------------Honestly, I think that California's agenda will serve as a pilot program for the rest of the states. First of all, those beliefs aren't justifiable, and they aren't Christ-like. Any belief that would count as discrimination under this law isn't a belief worth cultivating. It simply lacks virtue.This is a great law. There is supposed to be a separation of church and state in the U.S., and this law promotes that right. That doesn't mean that one can't let religion influence political thoughts, but rather that the government, which represents ALL people, cannot participate in outdated (supposedly) religious proscriptions.Also, requiring a teaching degree for homeschool(ing) parents is an intelligent law. It promotes legitimate alternative education, not one-sided, narrow-minded, all-together poor education, which doesn't prepare the child for a life of wisdom and loving. It's up, and it's good.

The fact that they're rejecting a God is bad enough. It's foolishness in my opinion. How people can openly believe in evolution. I don't have enough faith to be an evolutionist.

Schwarzenegger is actually pretty conservative, but many Californians are liberal. One of the only reasons they elected him is really to get rid of Grey Davis.But these new homosexuality laws are beginning to get on my nerves. I'm sorry, but it is really annoying me. Its one thing to have homosexuals in a community, but forcing that it is "OK" down my children's throat is another thing. This is becoming Communism. We are being deprived of all our freedoms, and being forced to follow something. Now homosexuals have more rights than heterosexuals! I thought we were supposed to be treated equally, are we not? Now somehow, the government is recognizing homosexuals as being superior above heterosexuals, and regard them as "special". Why do they receive "special" rights? I thought they were supposed to be the same as us.I really do not like how homosexuality has invaded society, and is now enforcing laws.The ideas of Family, Parents and Values and morally represented, and therefore, have to have religious ideas behind them.I do believe in Separation of Church and State, but this is an issue that is represented by religion.I'm sorry for my fervent ranting, I just have a lot on my mind, and I'm a little angry. Unless my memory is failing, I never said that "The average public school in the inner city" is preparing a child for either a.) wisdom, or b.) loving (which, coincidentally, I believe should be the goals of education, though I must admit it sounds idealistic).The quality of education that the average American citizen receives is horrendous, but it isn't the fault of the teachers, necessarily. Individual state governments don't properly provide for their public schools (and "provide for" means more than just financially).Furthermore, I was subtly cutting at a very particular type of homeschooling (Which I'm guessing hits close to home for a lot of people on this forum), which not only does a disservice to the child, but also to Christianity as a whole.I'll make it more obvious next time, for your sake. But don't put words in my mouth.

What could be worse than "horrendous?" What "particular" type of homeschooling were you refering to that does a disservice to a child and Christianity as a whole? The public school system is really nothing more than a conditioning platform for a humanistic worldview. The public schools system is more interested in molding our children into some sort of egocentric puppet, where the only thing important is the pleasures of now, the condition of the self, and the general feeling that nothing is really "wrong". Trust me, I really had a lot of grief going to public school, I had alot of problems from teachers because I was able to see alternate methods alot of times.

I'm going to assume that you're from California, that you've attended their public schools, or, at the very least, that you have spoken to numerous people who have had these experiences first hand. Otherwise, how would you have all of this objective, "factual" knowledge about the California school system? Unless, of course, you're just repeating something you've heard other people say, and not actually thinking about things for yourself. But you wouldn't ever do that, now would you?By the way, evolution is a FACT within species; that is, various species, including human beings, adapt over time to their environment. What hasn't been proven is that human beings today evolved from "lower" species. However, an understanding of evolution is key to the scientific disciplines of biology, ecology, etc... I'm not even going to touch the subject of homosexuality with you, because you aren't going to listen to a word I say, so there's no point. Some people just hate others because they're different, and I'm going to have to live with that.And I apologize, I didn't realize that you owned this particular PUBLIC thread on this PUBLIC Christian forum.Also, "blatant" simply means obvious or conspicuous, so of course my comments, being on an internet forum, are going to be blatant; i.e. they are conspicuous and obvious because I'm posting them for people to read. I think you are looking for the adverb "blatantly," but you still need some sort of adjective in there. Otherwise, you're just saying that my comments are obvious comments, which, rather ironically, is very obvious.Finally, why should I have to post in the "non-Christian" part of the forum, just because I disagree with you? Is agreeing with you a prerequisite for being a Christian? If so, then I think you're grossly overstepping your bounds as a human being. The only thing required to make one a Christian is belief in God as a loving being, and his son Jesus Christ as a loving teacher and savior. 1. That is adaptation. Not evolution. Or at least "micro evolution", what they call it. Evolution, has been based on assumptions and no one can prove it's existence.2. God abhors homosexuality. That's the truth, He condemns it. As a Christian I must hate the things God hates. But take note of this. I cannot hate a person. I must hate homosexuality, but not the homosexual.3.
